the style of play that geelong play is a concern, and this is what i would like to see happen....

-get rid of mark thompson, or change the way he coach's to ensure they play a running game.

-trade ling, he has no value at the club except for his looks and personality.

-and get rid of either charlie gardiner or henry playfair because it wont work having both of them in the same side.

-we need better kids, who can carry the footy, like wojinscki!!

Ling - Give me a break, why don't you like him?

IMO he is our linkman in the midfield, generally closes off an opposition gun, and runs all day. He doesn't have a great long game, but the role he plays is necessary to our team.

Granted this has not been his best year, but that's the case with most of our squad in 06.

Wojja can carry the footy, but cant use it properly 100% of the time. I would rather perfect skills than speed.

I agree with Gardiner/Playfair - i feel another 2 forwards may be amoung that list.

Ling needs to stay. He a valuable member of the club and he has a fanatstic worth ethic, im sure he will train harder than ever over this up and coming pre season because this year was a major let down for himself and the club.

I don't think Bombers coaching style will change unless we get an assistant coach who will influence Bombers decisions. Maybe he will go.

robert walls summed ling's game up:

"Cameron Ling can't be the player that receives the second most handballs because he stops the forward flow when he gets possession."

footy has changed so much in the last 2-3 years that you cant afford to have someone like him in the midfield.

and for tagging, we should be the ones making other teams trying to tag our gun midfielders and not the other way around.

i think he should be played in the half forward somewhere, he has proven he is good in front of the big sticks.

Isn't that where he started his career - a full forward?
Maybe he's our answer!! :D

Agree that this year has been a struggle for him due to the changing of the rules. He seems to have been sucking a lot more air in earlier in the game than he used to.
Must say, he shut down West in the Doggies game. That's no easy feat!

I'd like to see him giving a go as a forward also. I'd like to see something different for a change.

Walls statement about him recieving handballs is very true.

I think Jarad Rooke is a better tagger than Ling. I doubt Ling could have done as good a job on Judd as Rooke did late last year. Rooke also lays more tackles and goes in and gets his own ball too, unlike Ling who waits out the back of the pack looking for a cheap one.
