TLDR
As a tv viewer and person who was only interested in the brownlow votes and awards like GOTY and MOTY - I'd prefer if they just did the count BUT I doubt the players/AFL would be as keen on just having the night devolve into just hearing numbers being read out. I think we have to suck it up on this one.

I thought the count was well balanced and Gillon McLachlan paced the count beautifully.
I especially liked when Basil Zemplias interviewed a few of the players. He's a natural on the tele, so high energy.
