I can't think of a tiger player who has played in the past 20 years who has joined the media like a Dunstall or Ox. Maybe they're too smart for that. Dunks certainly was, we have a heap of assistant coaches (Bondy, Cambo, Cameron) and Benny's gonna be running the AFL in 5 years.

Can anyone fill me in on why the channel 10 commentators, mainly Walls have such a dislike for Richmond?

I know we sacked the guy as coach but all coaches get sacked, no-one leaves willingly.

It seems to me they have nothing but negativity for our boys and quite frankly, I'm sick of it!

His one word answer about whether Richo could win a Brownlow or not: no.

Geez, Walls, thanks for the insight. How about elaborating a little on this?

I hope he does win the Brownlow then shoves it up Walls' date.

I hope we can keep winning this year and silence the one-sided commentary from ten.

I also watched the replay and heard Walls comment about Richo and the Brownlow.

Unbelievable comment. Showed nothing but bias and resent.

Walls is unpopular, no-one likes or respects him, no-one turns on the tv to listen to him. Says everything about the standard of football media that someone that couldnt pull a rating has a job

While his coaching reign wasn't the greatest, it would not be at the level of those other two jokes. He did coach a premiership in 87 and make a grand final in 86 more than what the other two did.

Criticise him all you want about bias etc.. when commentating, but don't put him on the same coaching level as Frawley and Shaw

Yes the commentary was bad enough but what drove me more insane was the &^%#@ ads! After EVERY goal in a high scoring match, then at the end of the match, 1 minute of discussion, then 10 ads, 1 minute of more gibberish then 10 ads, then pfft.

I guess we should be thankful they showed the boys singing the song....

Something along the lines of "If anyone, Richo would be the one to make a mistake on the interchange."

Even though it was meant as tongue in cheek, I thought it was a really low comment as it bought into question Richo's intelligence and was also hinting that Richo constantly messes things up. I think Richo as a player and person deserves more respect than that, especially from a former coach of his.

I could have coached Carlton to flag during that period

The way he ungraciously blamed all and sundry at Richmond without shouldering any of the blame himself ... coupled with the hilarious way he "Claims" to have laid the foundations for the Lions success shows him up for the tool he really is .

If he claims that he laid the foundations for Brisbanes success , does that mean he laid the foundations for our shyteness ??? .... Whats it gonna be Walls ?

Good call on Walls there, IDGAF. I was watching the game at home on Saturday with a few mates with the projector up on the wall and I almost threw my stubby straight through the plaster when Walls made those comments.

When he said something along the lines of 'if Richo had played in a good team', I snapped and was swearing like a sailor. My response (without the profanity I actually used) was that he was part of that problem because he took a team that finished 3rd in 95 to 9th in his first year in 96 and even further down the following year. If you're going to fire off about poor teams over a period of time, you probably wouldn't want to mention one that you've been the coach of during that era. He's a douche-bag!!!
