CHB - Your choice

who would be your preferred choice for CHB now that Schultz is out - i see 3 obvious options

1.Hall
2.Morrison
3.Graham

i really have no faith in any of these guys. I think i would go with Morrison and make it a make or break situation for him. Hall just hasnt got the strength to be taken serious in that position. i by no means though have an obvious choice

Hall for me should be given first crack, I still have some hope he will become a useful player.

It'll be horses for courses. For round 1, possibly Gaspar on Ottens, Kellaway on Kingsley and Hall in a third man in role. Alternatively Hall on Ottens, Gaspar on Kingsley and Kellaway third man in. The second option matches up better in theory, but either way we'll be relying on a lot of pressure being put on by our midfielders up the ground.

Depends who the opposing CHF is but i really cant see how we could go past Bowden. Won a B&F there.

the only one that really is strong enough is morrison but i wouldnt say hes up to it
hall and AK arnt strong enough they really need to bulk up to play CHB
and graham has never really been a CHB and not sure hed be able to go with the likes of tredrea, hall, riewoldt etc with his age being what it is

we need shultz back but he needs to be fit enough to go with the likes named above to really be CHB. I think he could be strong enough to contend with them but he wouldnt keep them goaless

I actually do agree with you there - I think he really does do his best, and a decent job there - But the problem is - when he plays on a Riewolt or Tredrea - they just make him look so ordinary - i think CHB is the only position now that looks very weak on our starting 18

I don't know why Graham hasn't been given a fair go, he's played 220+ games so experience counts in my opinion. Ray Hall was the main reason I went home angry after every game last year. Remove the bloke from defence and use him as a utility around the ground playing a free role. He's tall and athletic.

Morrisson is a more attacking player imho. I couldn't see him playing the Ben Holland CHB role. I'd rather have him playing him around the forward line and making our attack look a little more potent but I'd like to see him get a go at CHB and see how he goes.

Do we have any young upcoming defenders? Because Jarrod Roughead wouldn't of been such a bad pickup.

Agree but as Terry said Bowden playing his best football down there did not help us win games. So were should we play Joel back forward or middle.

I reckon Terry is wrong.

If Bowden gets 30 touches a game rebounding the ball from defence it will go a long way towards us winning the game.

Schultz should be back the also (when fit). Based on Ports system Schultz and Gaspar to play the Bishop & Wakelin role while Bowden plays that attacking/rebounding CHB/flanker postion.

From what ive seen Bowden has bulked up a fair bit this year.

Agree with you 100% I would love to see Bowden play out of the backline again this year. How can 1 player in a side that lost get the ball 30 times and not get best on field in the minds of the umpires. However saying that I would also like to see him playing in the foward line as he could kick 3 or more goals a game.

From all reports thus far thats what it looks like.

i beleive Plough is going to use him in a utilty/Hird type role. Abit up back/forward/onball.
