Panasonic are best value for money plasma and Samsung best value for money LCD IMO.

Sony Bravia Full HD's often have deals where you can get a free PS3 as well, so they're certainly worth looking at for a top TV and a quality gaming system for nothing.

Got a 32 inch AWA LCD from Big W for $500. No issues since purchase date which was about April this year with the TV, although the built in DVD player has needed regular head cleaning.

I was going to buy a cheapy ASUS or somehing recently for my sons room then I saw Sharp 42 inchers at JBHiFi for $1600 with an Xbox and 4 games included which bring s the effective price to under a grand.

If you are after a gaming console as well (which we were) it makes it an absolute bargain.

Almost went with the 40 inch soniq lcd at $700. But the specialist at JB talked me out of it. He managed to up sale me to the 40 inch sony 100hz AT AROUND $1550. Decided it wasnt worth the risk taking the cheap option after all the hate in this thread .

We bought a Sanyo 42-inch plasma television from K-Mart for $990 about 6 months ago. Absolutely no problems with it since we've got it. IMO, it's has just as good a picture quality as some of those $3,000-$4,000 plasmas that I've seen in stores.

I thought they were of the "lower" then high quality TV's. And I thought the price was cheap enough to tell someone else about it....
