Seeing as tho' that other thread got closed i still wanted to comment on the crowd at the game on saturday.

we sat at the tiges end and i thought there were pretty cool - closer to soccer crowd type vibes than any other team we have played. and this, after a total lack of anything for 26 years, is just fantastic - imagine if they were up an' firin'.

(and is human conversation static - what the hell is deemed "off-topic" anyway? the powers that be shoulda got rid of frederick from that other thread before closing it)

I think Richmond have one of the best cheersquads in the league. I remember going to a Richmond-Brisbane game with my cousin a few years back who is a Brisbane fan, and was amazed with the volume of their cheers, as well as the regularity of them. IIRC, they even had a Tigers chant going throughout the duration of the three quarter time break.

I sit in the Doug Wade stand at Skilled, and am amazed how often our cheersquad tend to sit on their hands when the team is struggling. Fortunately for them, we haven't struggled too much recently, but our cheersquad only seem to get going when we're running all over our opposition.

the guys at the richmond for us who were chanting for us were pretty cool..."SCARLO.....SCARLO etc". When the boys were warming up, that got scarletts attention and he kept looking up. Also loved the gary ablett chant

I was at Richmond vs Geelong, I was sitting behind the Tigers cheersquad, and while I was impressed with the Tigers Squad they are always like that, and i'm used to it now. I was surprised with the Cats squad, I was impressed with the fact I could hear them quite clearly from where I was, mind you, the only chant I could hear from them was the GEELONG clap clap clap one.....Still, they did a good job.:thumbsu::)

^^ They are quite loud, i think the Geelong CS numbers have increased in recent years (for obvious reasons), they are pretty loud, moreso at the Telstra Dome, Norths CS are also pretty loud.

Richmond fans take the cake though, they are really loud and even with the terrible weather on Saturday they still were 'up and about' as they say, i wish more spectators were like that, a little more passion and noise at a game would help (especially at the dull Skilled Stadium matches).

Yeah Norths is great, noticed it in Rd 5 when they came back:(. The Collingwood squad is loud but doesn't really make a hell of a lot of noise, our members and other supporters are the main noise makers. I love going to Richmond games because of the crowd factor they bring. While with obvious bias I think us Collingwood supporters are just as good, probably a little less, the Richmond supporters are great. :thumbsu:

pies might have the numbers (atm) - but still those tiges slaughter 'em in the noise stakes. the pies are like most clubs and only get loud and crescendo when the goin' is good. like friday.

in the prelim, maybe coz it was tight and people were nervy, but there seemed to be more nail-bitin' than out'an'out shoutin'.
