I have just seen on the www.footygoss.com site that Chick has had surgery and expected to miss 3-4 weeks!
he was a good player and will be missed.
The eagles seem to be stringing the close games together, and I must admit I think they were lucky to win over the Lions after the opportunities the Lions had, especially the shot by lappin.

And an article on the AFL website

"West Coast Eagles’ star Daniel Chick will miss the next month after suffering a serious thigh injury during Saturday’s thrilling win over Brisbane at Subiaco.

Chick suffered a corked thigh during the three point win but Eagles’ medical staff became concerned after the game when the former Hawthorn forward began to feel a build-up of pressure in his leg.

The Eagles’ immediately decided to take Chick to hospital where it was revealed he was suffering compartment syndrome.

As a result he was forced to undergo surgery to relieve the build-up of pressure in his leg and is now expected to be sidelined for at least the next three matches.

The Eagles’ next match is against Carlton at Optus Oval on Saturday."

What a Shame

And this happens just when Chick has played his best game of the season - I only listened to game on radio, but he clearly pulled Voss' pants down. He would have been very useful to run with pavlich when we play the purple frockers in 2 weeks time.
With the way waters is progressing, maybe he could be the man to go with Pavlich. It was good to hear that Waters was again quite good - it looks like we have a winner in him.
And wasn't Judd just awesome!

Im hoping the coaching staff dont share the same sentiments. A player who possibly could have played 5 games up against an all-australian?

Not to mention he is way too small and hasnt been playing in the midfield and couldnt possibly have the stamina

I dont know if you only have access to the radio but Waters is far too small to take on Pavlich. He would be thrown around like a rag doll. Embers head to head.

Probably right

You're probably right there Jod23. I've seen Waters - in the Ess. game. I thought he was 190, but on checking in my yearbook, I see he is listed at 188. Certainly, Pavlich is a lot stronger than Waters. If I remember rightly though, Waters does have good endurance and could be trained up as a midfielder, something in the mould of Jason Johnson of Ess.
Embley would be a better match-up.
