Actually I'm probably the type of person you're talking about, but I find that I'd rather watch footy/cricket than racing during the rest of the year. Spring Carnival is when I get into racing because there's more opportunity to actually go to the races, and there's more media coverage of it.
Occasionally I'll chuck on Sky channel but it's always boring races at Eagle Farm and I don't know any of the horses...

I was with a mate on geelong cup night. He was on the phone to the track rider who said "forget what it is doing now, will win the melb cup"

Read the form at the track on the day, I couldn't find a winner so I just backed 'something' for the hell of it......had $200 on said nag......I am an idiot

Actually, I got on Cats Whisker the night before the grand final as a bit of an omen bet (SJ like you mentioned, I think things that I do will effect how we play, ie. I never drink the night before a game), and it ran 3rd..

Another one is I will never bet on a Geelong game. The minute I do that, all hope is lost.

I talked my brother out of putting 5 bucks on T Lonergan for first goal in the GF for that very reason. Needless to say he kicked it, costing my brother 70 bucks. I asked him, 'which would you rather? 70 bucks or that goal?'. Obvious answer, unfortunately we lost.

Lost $400 on them in rnd 1 against port. The bet was for +25 points. ppffftttt

Not sure what to do in the turnbull. One thing is for certain though. Best odds you will see on the hussler this spring if it wins.

I've avoided the Turnbull. I'm tempted to absolutely unload on WH, but I have connections to Pompeii, so I just can't do it.

Had lottoria and hustler one out and then subbed lottoria for maldivian.
Didn't have master though

Another 150 down the gurgler. Might call it a day :)

The other thing that annoyed me were the people sitting around me on Saturday. People in front didn't even know what footy was. People to the left went for St Kilda. Makes me sick, these are some of the reason why myself and my brother missed out on the ballot last year (I ended up seeing the match but he didn't, possibly the only chance he ever gets to see a premiership).
 
I was in the MCC (which was a ****ing shambles by the way - got there at 5, a guy who ended up 2 rows infront of us told us he got there at 7:30), and the worst supporter near me was actually an Essendon supporter. And he was TERRIBLE! Like just constantly going on about the umpires trying to gift us the game etc. He was clearly worried about us overtaking their '00 year, and I have no doubt in the world that he is a BigFooty user, noone could be as big of a tool as he was, and not have hatred from here.
 
I'm on Playwright in the last !! This ****er of a horse had a super spring last year, come back a bit shit this time in. Up against donkeys, I'm taking a big gamble considering its recent form. IF it can find anything like its previous form then it will shit on these.

Unlike you I went the 'attack it head on' option - bad call. Even now they are replaying the game on Foxtel, and the ads for the DVD aren't helping either.
