Yeah, got the movie on dvd, the extras are really interesting, especially the interviews with the real Chopper.

I have read the first four books and I seem to think that not all of what he says can be believed, but one thing is for sure he was a violent man, but his violence did seem to be directed at other criminals.

Eric Bana`s performance was brilliant. He gained a lot of weight for the role and was very believable playing a violent criminal, he is a very underated actor imho.

The funniest bit from a movie full of funny bits. I actually know women who get all offended and on their high horse because I find this funny. They're obviously missing the joke and should go back to the kitchen.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Chopper is indeed a great movie and my father told me a story that he once saw Mark Reid at the races, which i think is pretty cool.

You will see him most days at the Leinstar Arms hotel in Collingwood (my old local) where he is supposedly a 'doorman'.

He certainly likes his beer !!!!!

"Keithy's done himself a mischief"

Thats possibly my favourite part. He is just standing there saying "nah, everything is sweet" then steps aside and "oh ********, it seems keithy has done himself a mischief"

That or when he blows the Turks eye out on his story and his standing there, slow mo, while the Turk drops and Chop is smiling with his silver teeth.

Apparently he has liver problems tho because of it.

Yeah its a great DVD, and you can see in Bana's body language on Choppers Tassie farm, that he is not entirely comfortable around him. It also shows exactley how good an impression Bana did. He is simply brilliant in it IMO.

As for not knowing what to believe etc etc.. In Chop Chops own words, "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story".

Someone said he's working in a bar in Scumville? I thought he was living in Tassie.

EDIT: While I was working for a particular phone company I happened to set up an account for a certain someone in the name of Neville Bartos :p

Definitely 'working' at the Leinstar in Collingwood. Maybe he was in tassie on holidays or something.

No he owns a farm down there. Apparently had to get away from all the bad eggs in Melb, and as Seven said.. he saw hin in Launceston last week.

When did u last see him in Collingwood?

(Will this turn into a ChopperSpotting thread?)

i know he definately used to go to a pub in Collingwood. A mate of mine served him beer there about 2 years back. I think he goes back and fourth to be honest.

i've drank at the leinster a few times a couple of years back and chops was there every time i was there. once i walked in with my old man and they have (or rather had, the blokes now dead) a mutual friend, so they started chatting and i ended up having a few beers with the bloke. He's not a bad bloke i guess, in that sort of environment.

I haven't been there for about 9 months but just spoke to a mate of mine who lives basically next door to the pub in question. Said Chopper was there last week.

I guess he must go back and forth.

And thats 300 up for me.

Just a coincidence, as all other names in the movie were invented. The Neville Bartos character was loosely based around two or three associates of Chopper.

Keithy George's real name is Keith Faure and he's recently been arrested for one of these gangland murders. He didn't actually die in real life after the prison stabbing.

They change the names for legal purposes, as in other movies based on true stories, such as Goodfellas.

If I have one criticism of the film is that it's more a collection of stories than a story.

Banas portrayal would have won an Academy Award if based on an American, uncanny.
