Agreed. If all goes well and we get the in's we're expecting in the next few weeks, not sure if i can see a place for him. But i likes the guy!

I don't mind him. I hope he can become very consistent because he hads genuine flair to the side.

Not sure where his best position is though.

Yeah it's tough deciding where he should play but I reckon he's a forward type player and think he's playing down back at Willi to learn how to apply pressure. He's actually got a pretty nice boot on him and kicked some lovely passes into the forward line last Saturday.... but I'd love to see him kicking goals.

I thought he did a couple of good things and he has improved his poise but he needs to be involved in the game a lot more while he is on the ground. He needs more intensity.

Good to have him still as a depth player though. He should only get better, and he provided good run in the middle, showing he didn't have to come in as a specialist forward.

Obviously we'd like more from a first-rounder, but he has done enough, at the top level, to prove enough. Usually we read into VFL form and pre-season, but it simply doesn't apply to Egan. He just needs to keep performing at the top level.

Brodie Holland will be back this week, so will be interesting to see how Egan is treated.

If anybody has to make way for Holland, it should be Dick. Egan did enough to justify selection next week, while Dick could do with a run in the VFL. A week ago I'd have dropped Davis, but his game against Adelaide was outstanding.

He was very good in the early piece, presented well, and most importantly, got a fair bit of the footy across the half-forward line. I don't know what happened after that but it seemed that Mick put him deeper (in the pocket) as if he was told to do Medhurt's role. Has an x-factor. He probably could do with more gametime in the seniors, so I would keep him in the side for one or two weeks.

I've been criticised for saying that Egan is a much better player at AFL level than VFL level, however it doesn't mean if he is going absolutely crap at VFL level he can come in. You just have to analyse his game a lot more, i.e. did he do the team things, did he improve on his deficiencies, if he plays like this will he be ok at AFL level etc.
