No one has mentioned Chris Johnson's game. Back in the team after a stint in the twos. Didn't have heaps of the ball (12 kicks, 4 handballs) but i thought whenever he had the ball it was damaging and he set up a few plays off half back and finished off with a 55mtr goal. And he looks to have improved alot on his disposal! :thumbsu:

You'd want to hope so! Was it 4 or 5 clangers in a row V Bulldogs?

If Johnson and Bentley both get a toast thread, doesn't that mean everyone should get one? Expecting the waterboy, magnet board man, captain carlton and bootstrappers toast threads to start rolling in any minute...

Played pretty well yesterday but a long way from sold on this player. If he can string the rest of the season togeather with performances as good and preferably better than yesterday then may change my mind. Don't see him as a strong minded player. We need guys who are intense all the time expecially under pressure. He looks brittle to me.

Did Bentley get one? He was shit though?

I actually think he did fairly well at the start of the season. along with waite and Thorntan, the team looked capable of getting it out of defence via good disposal. Since Waite did his knee and Johnson got dropped and Thorntan has been missing, we have really lacked that at half back.

I only saw highlights of the game against Freo, so i cant comment on his performance. However, i would rather him get under 20 possessions which actually create something and are on target then have others getting 25 plus touches and doing nothing with them.

Well played CJ. Very solid game today, and even though he didn't get a heap of it, he certainly made them count when he did have the ball. Really provided some stability down back today.
I think we knew his disposal was good, just had a shocker vs Doggies.

Main concern with him was his body on body defensive work, and this is possibly part of the reason why Scotland was dropped.

Did he play a defensive role and how did he go defending/stopping his man?

I don't know what's less warranted...the toasting he get's this week, or the bagging he copped earlier in the year.

We seem to be lacking a bit of patience (let me pre-empt the GnR youtube clip - dont!) on the board at the moment...quick to talk a player up, and even quicker to bring them down.

Players (and coaches) are judged to be elite or shit on the back of a one or two game stretch, and whilst it feels good to have a win and its easy to get excited the tendency to over rate our very young very inexperienced list is barely believable.

Aside from that well done CJ, keep up the solid performances.
