Yeah, Stewart was on TV a while back saying he couldn't use anything from his time at Port because they still owned the intellectual property until after the draft. He possibly could have gone through the camries stuff and given his thoughts on what they were doing though.
Impossible I would have thought given the knowledge he has.

Impossible to police also I would suspect. As long as the right noises were made I don't think there would be too many noses put out.

Stewart was always going to have a major input into what type of players we draft. DOn't forget he is the one that has to work woth these kids everyday and he did say that he will analyse our list and give his recommendations and that will be part fo his role every year.

I am certain Stewy will be sent out to a few underage games next year to assess the local talent.

that's not right. he doesn't have to play dumb about his previous work experience. think about it, he may not be able to bring charts and presentations, research materials with him, but he's not required to forget that he thought Van Berlo - say - was a good player.

there is NO intellectual property issue here whatsoever.

Chris is a very polished player. Wins a ton of the footy and has a long left foot kick. a very hard worker and has the ability to open games right up. loves a goal to. had trouble with his knees this year but once fully fit will become a house hold name. he is a steal at pick 56. spoke to him yesterday and he is wraped to be going to adelaide
Yep he could turn out to be a bit of a steal this one. Hasn't quite lived up to expectations this year but maybe that was partly due to his knee troubles (he had to ice them up after each game). Is all class and should be good value - Crows rated him in their top 20 going into the draft which is why they used up their last pick on him.

The guy had 30+ touches in the TAC grand final so he can obviously play !

Performing on the big stage counts for plenty I reckon.

Seems a pretty good bet at pick 56. Time will tell.

Surely you dont beleive he didnt have any input on the Crows drafting. While officially he cant use the vodaphonies interlectual property, he most definately would have made his opinions of every possible option known, whether they were Port targets or not.

Agree 100%. How can he 'black out' all previously stored knowledge from his time at PAFC - he would have had a huge amount of info on the players drafted this year.

This guy can turn out to be a super player. I think he is a special special player
I agree from what I have heard, just needs to start performing. Maybe the discipline of the AFL environment will bring it out.

I hope you're right. I was super impressed with the total gratitude he expressed to the AFC for picking him up and how he is prepared to work his arse off to repay them.

He sounds like he's got his act together IMO.

Sounds like a plyer who knows where he sits, perhaps is sincerely grateful for the opportunity - the AFC could really be the beneficiaries - lets hope so.

Good point.

I just can't express how well he came accross during that press conference. He really came accross forever grateful for being picked up and wants to repay the club. From all the draftees he came accross as the one most happy with being with the Crows.

As I have said before with Jimmy's record late in teh draft I am confident that this kid can develop into a good player for us. The fact that we used pick 56 when we weren't going to tells me that Jimmy rates this kid very highly.

He is also a nice size as well for a midfielder. In fact all the players we drafted this year are nice size for positions they play :).

He will be a good honest player at the most.
Your guessing - we're guessing - who knows?
Iam just saying as most posters here that we admire his attitude for the opportunity, unlike many draftees.

If that counts for anything towards his future success then fantastic. ;)

Did want to leave Port on good terms and not burn any bridges.

Nobody leaves Port on good terms, it's the single biggest failing of their organisational culture.

Bucky builds relationships, Chocko burns them; Bucky isn't there to fight any fires, so it could get worse.

Agreed but also that strength has been the cornerstone of their longterm success.
Still I think Stewart can sleep well at night in the comfort that he tried to leave on good terms.
