He works at the team store so the boy clearly must have a high IQ. Sign him up I say. I like the cut of his jib from what i saw of him at WAFL level

huge west coast fan. I tend to rete him higher than palmer because he has been playing consistently good footy for the last 2 years where as palmer really only stepped up at the carnival. would only draft him if we ended up with a pick between 5 and 10.

Didnt just step up at the carnival, has stepped up all year in the WAFL. and especially after the carnival, started gettin more time in the middle, and got his confidence up. Then earned himself a place on the WAFL team of the year. I would rather Palmer at West Coast

Palmer is too one sided for my liking. Right foot is borderline non-existant.

Masten > Palmer for me.

You can say the same for Masten but on both sides :o

Nah its not that bad but it needs improving (ala Swallow styles) to cut it in AFL standards. The difference between kicking it in the right area and hitting its target is as big as the difference between WAFL and AFL.

Jib kind of means style
It was originally a sailing term - the jib is one of the small forward sails. The "cut" refers to the angle of the sail - catching the full breeze.

Sad I know.

I'm a little naive here, but do the clubs get a chance to speak to the boys they draft...
Other than the short interviews, do they get a good sit down chat? Because surely from the talks they can gauge whether or not a kid would "prefer" to stay in the state of their origin. I.e if Richmond know that a kid they pick in a few years wants to go home, would'nt that sway their decision to choose someone else?

for example... Maston & Palmer...
