Now before youall go telling me to go fcuk myself, heard this from a Tigers fan I work with that Chris Tarant isn't long for Collingwood, ( we all know he doesn't get on with Bucks and Malthouse) and could well be on his way to Tigerland.
Wallace will have Richo moving to CHB, (see Chris Grant) with Schultz being groomed for FB, with Bowden on a HBF. This leaves Tarrant to play FF.

Fanciful but gives me a woody just thinking about it. :D

I dunno.

We'd probably have to cut our nose off to get him.

We've got Jackson too remember, and although Richo isn't long for the AFL, he may be traded yet.. perhaps to Brisbane. You never know with a new coach, a coach who has 5 years to get action and results.

Tarrant wouldn't be a bad replacement, and surely has 5 good years ahead one would think. I'd just be wary of what we'd have to give up.

EDIT: I don't want to trade Richo, and I think Terry would put alot of supporters off by doing so. Scary thing is he would kick 100+ if he had 17 games in a season at Brisbane

Highly doubtful

For Starters Miller has come out and said we wont even be able to acquire a big named player with our first pick in the Preseason draft because we dont have the funds

Secondly Collingwood wouldnt give Tarrant up for nothing and I'm pretty sure there's absolutely no way Richmond will be giving up our 1st or 4th pick. We have no one worth swapping without it being a trade where we lose out.

Miller & Wallace have said it since Terry came here, developing our own via youth will be the Richmond way

No quick fix solutions anymore, be prepared for another hard year in 2005 as our kids develop.

The Magpies are in the market for a ruckman...

We could try to swap Ottens for Tarrant. Not sure if either side would be any better off. I would like to see Tarrant at Tigerland, but I think he is a Richo clone in more ways than one.

If he was to leave Collingwood in a trade Eddie would need all his skills to sell it to the magpie faithful. Not impossible, but I don't think likely.

Even if they were to offer Tarrant for Ottens, i don't think it is in the best interests of the RFC, to swap Otto. He is a key to the Tigers revival, and we could not afford to lose him.

And for all the Collingwood ferals that have nothing else to do but read our fabulous board, i am not saying in anyway that Tarrant is not a good player, so save yourselves a reply.

As a Pies supporter I personally dont believe these rumours about Taz floating around. BUT if they are true i dont think the Pies wouldn't take Ottens for Taz. Our ruck stocks atm are pretty solid. Guy Richards is finally paying off. We also ahve Fraser who can play ruck well but isnt a pure ruckman like Guy. We also have guys like cameron Cloke who can play ruck if need be. Ottens wouldnt be deperately needed.

If Taz were to go to the Tiges we would need an elite midfielder or a priority pick and a player. You dont really have a Key Forward to replace him with besides Richo. But i wouldnt think Wallace would let him go.

Collingwoods recent trade history would suggest that they are not reasonable to deal with in the trading dept.

I wouldn`t be wasting my time if i was Terry and Greg

what would you know of collingwoods recent trade histry? besides the nick stevens fiasco?

give us one more example of this so called "trade history"

i think if u atually had a clue about the whole situation ud realise that if anything we have been ripped off a few times ourselevs
ie. nick davis to sydney for a 2nd round pick
mal michael to brisbane for molloy
adkins to west coast for williams

Point is port adealide werent in a position to bargain for what they were trying to get, and in the end they got nothing.

We didnt gain anything, we didnt lose anything. They lost stevens, gained NOTHING.

Seiously doubt it. As mentioned $ the problem and the only way we could get him is through a trade of players ( we ain't giving up picks 1 or 4! ). Doubt we have anything to interest Magies. Would be stupid to trade Ottens. We are short on ruckmen as it is. Why fix a problem by creating another.

On TFS last night Eddie said that Mike Sheehan rang him during the week asking about the rumour of picks 1&4 to WCE, Judd to Collingwood and Tarrant to Richmond. When Eddie laughed him off Sheehan wrote the article on Rhys Shaw. It would never happen for numerous reasons. One reason would be that Tarrant is woth no where near picks 1&4

Tarrant for Richardson. Simply as that.

Richmond get a forward that can relate to their short kicking game as he leads up the ground a lot. Ottens and Stafford can then lurch behind him for the longer kicks. Same as Rocca has done in the last couple of years. Benefit is that Ottens and Stafford can kick straight unlike Richardson. Result - more goals.

Richardson can play as rotating half forward full forward for Collingwood. The best thing about this is that Rocca can slink around the goals for longer. The only draw back is that the goal kicking coach at Collingwood cannot get consistancy out of any of the goal kickers already there, how will he go with Richo? Benefit is that the Pies then have two real big pack markers who can kick from 120 metres.

Makes me happy.

Tony Lockett???????

That's right. I remember now. You rejected lockett because you wanted to keep richardson. A great decision.

Fact of the matter is we will not give up our 1st rounders.Which leaves Ottens.there is a bit of a rumour that Otto in fact has had 2nd thoughts about staying at tigerland and wants to go back to Adelaide.
we wont get Tarrent[not that i want him].

cheers!

Incorrect. They passed on Lockett as they had another young kid coming through the ranks. Sav Rocca.

Yes it cost Collingwood a premiership 92. And it also cost Collingwood the greatest goal kicker record. Lockett would never have played as long as he did if he went to Collingwood.

I would imagine Adelaide or Port would have put a real pitch to him over the last week. Ill bet they said something like. Why would you want to wait 3 years before playing finals??.

No doubt selling your own club and downgrading the present one your are at is a big part of the play.

The best part of it all is that with Miller we know if he can't keep him then nobody can.

Didn't see it but that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. That Sheehan is a real knob. No wonder Eddie laughed at him.

1. Richmond can't afford Judd.
2. Tarrant isn't worth it.
3. West Coast want to keep Judd and by all reports he wants to stay.
4. Picks 1 and 4 are exactly what Richmond need - cheap young talent.
5. You're a moron Sheehan with zero credibility.

Not according to my mail. Richardsons dad was on the board and voted against trading for lockett cause his sone was being earmarked for FF.

I am aware that is was Wayne that vetod the deal although the reason given was that, why do we need this bloke who is an unpredictable mental case when we have a potential superstar full forward coming through. Sav Rocca.

I can see why people would think that he did this because of his son although his son was never going to be the FF.

It would have been a crap load better to get Lockett and have Sav play along side of him to learn, but that's all history now.

Indeed, along with another lost cup.

We are not Carlton, we tend to hold onto the ones we win :)

But what would the world be like if the Pies had won 2 in 3 years?

There'd be no Children O'Board, Sadam would've won the Nobel Prize for his contribution to humanity and peace. The city of Pompei would still be standing.

So did we. Well, we didn't actually reject him, he wanted to come to us and we wanted him. But St Kilda would only trade with us if they got Richo in return. If we got Lockett, we might have made the finals a couple of the times we finished 9th, but would still have no more flags.
