I think some are a bit harsh - I'd trade him for a third rounder. Last night was classic example of how desperate we are for options up forward.

Remember, you don't lose your ability just your confidence. At the moment Taz's is shot.

Yep, Fisher is woefully out of form and Waite did a much better up forward when he was there. Tarrant kicked four today and that's what we need - from someone... anyone.

It seems we have robbed Peter to pay Paul by shoring up our backline at the expense of a useful forward target in Waite. But then, Cloke and Thornton out has exposed our lack of depth at the moment - which will certainly improve as the younger guys develop. Cloke is a good option up forward if you rotate him through there with Kruezer.

Hell, I reckon Setanta is a good option up there the way we're going.

Some times I wonder why I come here...

Here we have a post saying lets consider Tarrant, directly above a post stating that it's time to trade Waite.

Does my head in.

It's better entertainment than otnight's TV.

Seriously the FTA channels and Government (Board of Education) have a lot to answer for.

I'd be more tempted by Ash Hanson but then again he seems no better than Harlett with injurys

I said this a couple of weeks ago in the miller thread.

So I will stickup for the OP.

I think if fremantle decide they want to get rid of him and if we can get him for next to nothing (late rnd or Ackland (freo are that stupid)) or even preseason draft, I think if he is worth a crack. If he fails then not too much harm done.

exactly.

We all said the same thing about drafting Cam Cloke and he's probably in everyone's best 22.

Any picks between 40-60 I'd trade for Tarrant in a heartbeat.

I can't believe anyone would actually support the recruitment of Tarrant to Carlton. This is a player who was overrated because he played at Collingwood & we all know how Collingwood supporters & the media overrate Collingwood players. Outside of 2 good seasons in 2001 & 2003 (54 & 53 goals), he has been nothing more than an honest toiler, at best, with a massive gap between his best & worst form. He is lazy, self-centred & overestimates his own ability. He is much better suited to an environment like Fremantle, where players with massive egos are in abundance. His ability to get into trouble off the field is not needed at Carlton. We have our own 'headcase' in Fev. He at least has a significant amount of talent, though. Tarrant would be high maintenance for minimal return. That's a no from me.
