Well a heart-shaped sapphire or ruby would be a nice gift for that special someone...

I've got a fair knowledge about gemstones and which ones are best suited for particular types of jewellery, and I believe that the corunudum (aluminium oxide) group which includes ruby, sapphire and several "fancy sapphire" types is by and far the best because of their hardness of 9, beautiful colours and lack of cleavage.

Wow, someone happy with a lack of cleavage.

Lack of cleavage? Well 'stones are one of the rare cases where a lack of cleavage is actually a good thing :D Because at least it won't break your heart :D :D :D

Not to mention their high ion-pair coulombic interactions!

And the fact you can usually get the right shape with them! Needless to say, much the same applies to Spinel in whatever colour.

YAY! No more Collingwood! :D

In similar fashion, I will wish for the liquidation of Liverpool FC, whilst we can get someone to wipe out all of Everton's £25 million debt with a hefty investment.
