RULES

Night Phase: 8pm - 9am ACST

Day Phase: 9 am - 8 pm ACST

In case of rain, playing hours may be extended the next day, up to a maximum of 30 mins or 8 overs.

THIS GAME HAS NEW ROLES. PLEASE READ THE OP CAREFULLY.

Basic Rules:

At the beginning of the game each player is given a 'role' at random and in secret (via PM) by the moderator.


The aim of the Villagers is to identify and kill all of the evil factions before the evil factions can kill enough villagers so that (# of e.g. Werewolves = # of Villagers). Only one faction can win.

How are players killed?
Each 'turn' of the game will last approximately 24 hours and also represents one 'day' of game time, thus a game will go on for several days before it is concluded. There are two 'phases' to every turn of the game;

Night Phase (8:00pm – 9:00am):When factions secretly decide among themselves, via PM communication, which Villager (one per night) that they shall kill and then inform the moderator via PM. Others with a Night action also enter their actions now via PM to the Mods. Decisions for the night phase are to be in no later than 9am.

Day Phase (9:00am – 8:00pm):After the results of Night actions have been announced, everybody, Villagers, Werewolves and Mafia alike, discusses and ultimately votes publicly in the game-thread upon which player (one per day) that they shall lynch and kill. Votes for the day phase are to be in no later than 8pm.

Obviously during the day the Villagers will want the group to vote for and lynch an evil player, whilst the evil players themselves will want not to be lynched; herein lies the fundamental strategy of the game:
Can the villagers identify the evildoers whilst at the same time convincing the rest of the group that they're not evil? And can the evildoers convince the group that they're not evil at all and thus avoid being lynched?

Werewolf Etiquette:

There are two main rules which everyone must follow in order for the game to run successfully;

DEAD PLAYERS MUST LEAVE THE GAME
If you are killed at any point during the game then you are no longer allowed to participate although I will allow a farewell post, but that post cannot impact the remainder of the game.

THERE MUST BE NO PRIVATE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN PLAYERS EXCEPT WITHIN THE GROUPS LISTED BELOW
Except for the above-mentioned groups sending PMs between themselves, other forms of private communication concerning the game are not allowed.

Anyone caught sending screen captures of BigFooty of any kind in this thread will be mod-killed instantly with no warning.

Anyone caught quoting PMs from the mods will be mod-killed without warning.

Missing 2 lynch votes in a row or 3 votes in total will see you mod-killed. Missing 2 night actions (if given a role) will see you mod-killed. You may choose to not use a night action but you must state so in your PM.

For this game we will not be using the Reason for Lynching rule. Vote for anyone for any reason at any time during the Day Phase.

Voting:
During the Day Phase players must vote for whom to lynch, your vote must be formatted in bold like this:Player Name.

For this game you may not vote NO LYNCH.

Upon the voting deadline (end of day-phase) the votes will be tallied by the moderator and whoever has received the most will be lynched and be out of the game: remember, once killed you cannot take further part; do not reveal your roles to anyone until the game has been concluded.

Any ties in voting will result in both players being lynched.


ROLES

EVIL

The Grinches


Alpha Grinch - Leads the Grinches. Has a nightly seer. Cannot be killed at night.

Intimidator Grinch - Can choose one player to intimidate. That player must only post using Christmas carol lyrics for the next day phase. They may still vote if they can bold a name within the lyrics.

Grinch Cub - Grinches get 2 kills in the next night phase if the cub is lynched (only if lynched).

Extra Grinch - Is in the PM and assists with the kills


The Scrooges


Godfather Ebenezer - Leads the Scrooges. Has a nightly seer. Cannot be killed at night.

Roleblocker Scrooge - Can prevent the night action of any other player.

Blackmailer - Can blackmail any other player to vote the way the Scrooges choose.

Ghost of Christmas Past - Can visit any player at night and just have a chill time with them. They may overhear interesting snippets if that player has a PM...

- the yule cat (SK) - Can kill and eat one player each night. Cannot be killed at Night.


Good

John McClane - (Vigilante )- Can choose one player to kill each night.

Santa Claus - (Seer) - He knows if you're naughty or nice. Can find the identity of one player each night.

Clark Griswold (Jobe) - Believes he is Santa, but all attempted seers return the wrong role.

Kevin McCallister (booby trapper) - Is home alone, but can choose to activate his traps. If traps are activated any person attacking Kevin will be killed instead. If trap is activated, but Kevin is not attacked on 3 separate occasions, they will malfunction and blow him up.

Santa's Little Helpers - elves - (The Flogs) - Share a PM. Have no other powers.

Buddy (vigilante elf) - Can choose one player to kill each night.

Other - There is an amulet. The magic mince pie will start with one player at random. You may hold it for a night and day phase, then must pass it on after the lynch. You are protected from death or seering or intimidation or blocking or blackmail whilst holding the amulet. It can only be passed around a group once before having to leave the group.
