Hell yes, keen. Hopefully it takes a few things from Humankind. I still prefer Civ but there were a few things that Humankind did really well that I wish were in Civ.
what would you ad from Humankind?

I find it's deeper, I can min/max my civ more. The way the civics work is pretty cool too and I prefer the districs. My favourite major difference which I miss when I go back to Civ is the amount of tiles you get per city in Humankind. In Civ I'm dotting cities where in Humankind I can develop fewer cities and it feels more organic. However the victory conditions of Civ are way better.

Yeah ok

I played one playthrough of Humankind. I did enjoy it a bit

So it seems you have three 'ages' where you morph into a new civ so I guess no more American spearmen and Babylonian tanks. Hopefully this also fixes the interminable end game where you go through the motions trying to finish off a game you've long since won.

And navigable rivers is something I've missed ever since they dropped it a number of Civs ago, it never made sense not to have it.

Will be interesting to see how leaders not being locked to their actual civilisation goes as well.

Taking some elements from humankind it seems

I remember being able to change civs in an old Civ, maybe IV, not sure if it was an official game mode or just a mod though.

I've played every version of Civilization since 1991/92 and I'm always a little apprehensive about a new release, but I think this is the one I'm most apprehensive about because of how different it will be to previous versions, it looks like an entirely new game.

All the above reviews I read are positive

There's a couple of not so good ones out there too, I imagine a lot of issues will get sorted out with updates as usual

wow

So reviews are either really good or really bad

Don't put too much weight into reviews. I'm not sure if it was good or bad but I stopped reading the Press Start one when old made said he had only played VI for 10 hours. That's the current typical garbage state of reviews when the reviewer has no actual experience in what they're talking about.

I think some people have a bit of sand in their vaginas over the whole eras thing
eras is a rip off from humankind. Which kind of worked well and kind of didn't imo

The Civ team basically made the genre what it is today, so I'm not against them seeing what others have done and trying to implement it, I don't think Humankind was the first to do the whole changing leaders over time thing though.

It wouldn't surprise me if a DLC brings in a Classic mode when you can just stick to a leader for the whole game.
