Played well today, loved his goal from the goalsquare turnover. His form looks to have picked up dramatically from late last year when it was almost unanimous that he won't make the cut.

Do you think he deserves a permanent rookie upgrade to the senior list next year? Or do you think he's too hot & cold and lot likely to make it long term?

Thoughts.

Loved his game today. We can decide between now and the end of the year whether he can show some consistency at this level. Big 6 months for Clancee. I like him as a footballer though.

Unless it was something major it was dumb to sub him off. He was of the only players who could kick a goal. Plus he lays a lot of tackles.

Was quite good on the weekend.

Good to see some of our youngsters are developing this year and taking their chances in the senior team given the all the injuries.

On the other hand, its been quite disappointing to see several other kids not take their chance. Crichton is struggling. Sibbo has gone backwards. Shep seems to have given up. Ibbo promised to have a break out year but has stagnated badly.

All the more kudos to Clancee

Yep great effort from clancee. Realistically, when we field a strong side ( ie. Only 3-4 injuries + 1 or 2 out of form players in the 22) clancee is a fringe player and he is setting the example. Strong wafl form and good afl effort. :thumbsu:

looks good on a HFF. can finish, good skills, and can tackle, if he was a little bit faster would almost be perfect

contest and handball to set up hills 2nd via duffield was simple but very clean.

BT sure loves him. (or maybe just loves his name!)

Edit: Every time we play Clancee, we always get a few goals out of him. Should keep playing him I reckon - he hardly does anything wrong unlike some other players. Definitely rather him in the side than MJ or Crichton.

I must confess I almost had him in the not going to make it basket. Whilst I love his footy brain I thought his lack of athleticism was going to see him relegated to being merely a very good wafl player. This year will tell but he's ticking all the boxes at the moment. I love the way he goes about it so will be cheering him on every step of the way.

No problems toasting Clancee boy. I think he's a great member of our squad. He doesn't do much wrong when asked to step up, can play a few positions, and he has been around a while and seems to apply himself well.

His only major downside AFAICT is that he's not too quick, both in terms of execution and foot speed, but he's fast enough and if he can do everything else right then he provides quality depth to our squad - a must these days if you want to be a top team.

Also, vote +1 for he should not have been subbed - even if it was bad cramping, pull him out for 10-15 minutes get the physios on to it and then send him out there again. Balla, Clarke, Fyfe (inj.) or MJ (though structurally he was important) where all options ahead of him.
