Because I remmeber we had the large ultimadum in round 22 against the Saints that meant if we won, we would lose pick 19 I think. Or maybe we simply lost our number 2 pick and gave Carlton Kruzer and Cotchin.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure we can win 1 and a half more games for the rest of the year to qualify for picks probably 2 or 3 and 3 or 4?

No one seems to bagging the Blues about tanking at the moment... we are copping more then them.

fewer than 16.5 points gets you are pick before the second round... 2 years in a row gets you one before the first round.

we cant win anymore games if we want first pick.

yeah shame on me, but if we do you can come and SMD when you are walking into the G on the last day in September knowing we are hot favs for another flag...instead of hoping beyond hope that we win 11 and fall into an elimination final, hoping we "might" be a chance. Then hoping again the next year, that we picked up a lucky dip from the draft, and the next and the ____ing next.

I'll be angry if we don't win at least two. We could get all three and be 6-1-7, just outside the eight with 8 games to play.

West Coast (Subi) = winnable
Essendon (MCG) = winnable
Brisbane (TD) = winnable
Geelong (TD) = hmm
Adelaide (AAMI) = hmm
Hawthorn (MCG) = hmm
Fremantle (MCG) = winnable
Melbourne (MCG) = winnable

11-1-10 record is not out of the question. I'd say we're more likely to be about 8-1-13 which is a decent return after a wooden spoon year.

Imagine if we tanked and had to play Melbourne in the last round to get 1st pick. The system would have to be changed after the same farcical situation two years running. And if we out-tanked Melbourne, how hard done by would they be? They would have been robbed of two straight PPs because they played a tanking team in the last round.

Scenario 1.. we Play our best players and win maybe 4 or 5 games and finnish around 10-12. We try to develop a culture of winning at all cost and set the club up for a run at the finals next season, and end up with maybe pick 5-7.

Scenario 2..... We play the Kids... sometimes out of position which you could argue will also develop them and we dont win another game for the rest of the season.
We end up with Pick 1 the Fijian( Best Tall ) + Pick 2 (the best Midfielder)hopefully another Cotchin, we are also are able to trade for a Quality player during the trade period because we have the first pick in the PSD and then we pick up another Good player in the PSD.


The argument about Tanking is NO longer an issue. Tanking is apart of the game now. The rules are in place. It's not our fault that the rules encourage tanking. The Prize for finnishing last is enormous.

Just think in one season we could add the Fijian, Rich and cousins + plus another quality player through a trade.

Carlton are knocking on the door of the eight this year..... imagine what we could do next year with this injection of talent.

I would even go as far as to say, that if the directive from the board isnt one of making it vital to get the the picks that are available to us this year, in lieu of what is about to happen with the system come the new sides, then they should be sacked on the spot and replaced with people who are smart and know how to run a business, not try and show us that they know how to run a business by making stupid lame statements and wearing stupid penguin suits.

I mean after so long we are now 11 games away from having "the" list, not "a" list. Even if there are the Rances gourdis etc in the wings who might be the next big things, how can you pass up the opportunity to not add to that weaponry with more fire power? Last season I have NO DOUBT in MY MIND WE TANKED against the Saints. Thats how we got probably the best midfielder that will play for our club. Just think if we had of beaten the Saints Carlton would have got Pick 1 and 2 and Potentially Judd for Free.
