One minute he is saying he doesn't care about the money and theres more to football then the money the next he has signed with melbourne, glad we didn't go for him...

"I respect and genuinely appreciate the interest shown by Melbourne but these decisions are not always about the financial side of things," Clark said in the statement.

"I've been saying for quite some time now that I want to return home to WA and play for Fremantle.

"Despite the highly attractive offer Melbourne have put on the table, I remain firmly committed to returning to Perth to be with my family and to signing with Freo."

U will get told he took it cos he was scared he would go into the psd and would end up at gws...He would still put a price on his head and they wouldnt have taken him for that money neither would any other club...Its all carp.hes money hungry and am glad richmond didnt even think about picking him up for the ridiculous amount of money and picks for a guy that really hasnt poroved much,
Good luck to him as anyone would take that money at any job.
But imo he aint worth half of that
It has also been reported somehwre that he will be on more money that n the no1 players at geelong and collingwood.
No way is he worth more than ,swan pendles, selwood, steveie j and many many more

in his 2 games against richmond this year what did he do???squat.I think he was injured in the last game against us but if he cant even be a standout against the tigers....In fact he has never done good against us in any games...Considering may bag our rucks and backmen he couldnt even perform against them.....Am glad melbourne have him

u see to that melbounre supporter.I actually got banned for a month for a comment less than that...At least u can get away with that here and arent as soft as your board ;)

A touch harsh. If any of us were headhunted by a company and then another came along with an even better offer we would take it. Brisbane and Fremantle couldn't come to an agreement and to be honest I think that he really just wanted out of Brisbane the going home thing was just a cover the fact he gets a fair bit more money is the icing.

I stated in another post good on him as anyone would take that sorta money...But hell melbounre supporters are hypocrites. When scully done it they bagged him yet its ok in this scenario???

Other than GC and GWS every club has been on both sides of that scenario and the supporters have acted the same.

tissues lads?
From May...
Mitch Clark is shit. Dont want him to come anywhere near our club. It seems many are unaware, but Mitch Clark is the same age as Gus. We already have Vickery who is pretty much the same mold as Clark... just three years less experience in the afl system.
I think we already have Vickery and Griffiths (possibly even Post if he pulls his socks up) who can play a similar role. I think Dimma has said we will build from the back line and theres a pretty big hole for a tall KPD there. This will be accentuated now that Grimes is out.

Furthermore he acts like a ******** on the footy field so i dont want a bar of him at the club.

Melbourne will be the ones laughing about this later, mark it down

Kid can play - wanted out of Brisbane last year and played like it this year.

Anyone who is somewhere they dont want to be, unmotivated and part of a team that was a ****ing rabble with terrible leadership will perform under par.

With Melbournes young exciting list & new coach, i fully expect Clark to be playing some very good football within the next few years.

Might not be next season, but he definitely will become a very important part of their upcoming success.

Brad Ottens mark two. Will struggle early @ his new team due to the new pressure, but when the team develops around him, he will step up and play his role.

Very good work Melbourne, you totally won that one. You just got a bloke who is 200cm, 100kg who was a worthy pick 8 in a draft that also contained Marc Murphy,Dale Thomas, Josh Kennedy, Scott Pendlebury, Patrik Ryder, Shaun Higgins- now with 6 years of senior footy under his belt.....for a selection 12, in a weak draft that is totally manipulated and deformed with two new teams who get to raid it first, & mini drafts draining the talent pool.

2 years ago, you got a selection 11 for Brock McLean.

You actually managed to get a ready made KPF & Ruckman for 4 selections better off than he was originally selected with. great effort. If you have the salary worked out so that is it front ended and wont interfer with future re-signings, great great pick up

I think he knew that the writing was on the Wall with Freo not budging from offering anything more then Pick 16 with the general way they have been acting.

Melbourne throwing about 200k more per year then anyone else would, he would, decided to jump, best thing for his Football, Leuenberger is the preferred ruckman over at Brisbane.

Best thing not only for his game, however financially wise and the safest thing to do rather then be drafted to Port/GWS

Yeah i agree, i just think to publicly come out and say "no" then "yes" makes him look like a dumb ass, i felt the same way when richmond done a 180 on cousins even though i am happy he joined the club..

tissues lads?

I thought you'd been sacked Bails? Anyhoo, you have just signed the mesiah, isn't it you guys that need the tissues:D.
And i'm on record saying he's a handy footballer, but he is a w***er as well. He will fit into Melbournes forward line nicely, we needed a ruckman, not another key forward, hence why we didn't go for him. Well done, you outbidded who to get him again, Freo and GWS??

So you're saying he will be shit at Melbourne as well then astro?

He obviously still wants to be in Perth, and has gone to a club with less leadership around the place than us, and that's saying something.

No dont agree.. Its not about the draft pick its about how much he is gettting paid.. Hes not worth 600k a year pure and simple and the only reason they could sacrifice the pick in the first place is becasue of the Scully scenario..

:eek:Oh dear, Toby!! Oh dear!!
I give Clark two years before he wants to bail on the Dees too.
200cm, 100kg bloke who has one good season to his name in six.
Classic underachiever.
Think you'll find, contrary to your remarks, that Brisbane aren;t a rabble and will be far better off without this waste of space who failed to put in.
