If he's accepted an early termination payout from the Hawks, he can keep it and do whatever he pleases. The Hawks would have been wise to hold off until he shows interest in one of the vacant coaching jobs, then they could have negotiated a reduced payout. Better still, they could have held their nerve and waited for him to jump at one of the jobs, then it would have been Clarko breaking the contract. Hawks were not smart with this. The least they could have done is wait until all the coaching jobs are filled before firing him. They walked right into that maximum payout without an ounce of strategy.

Then again, why are we all worrying about Hawthorn? A club that has 4 flags in the last 15 years - more than any other. Can't we enjoy seeing them be crap for a while?
