There was a big article in the herald sun today with people from the demonland forum expressing their hatred for the jumper and i was just wondering why they were so irate over the matter.

I dont know about the fans on the demonland forum. They seem to get angry at everything.

Every club needs a clash jumper so why be so angry about it?
It still has red and blue over it and it does not discard the melbourne football clubs heritage.
It still has the 150 sign on the top of the jumper and i can not understand how outraged some supporters are over it.

What does everyone else think?
 
Coming from a Non Melbourne supporters opinion, I would have to say all the critics of the Melbourne Jumper are muppets. The Jumper speaks the words of the great Ronald Barassi "Sit down, shut up and pay attention". The Jumper DEMANDS respect. Who needs a full forward when you have that jumper. In all seriousness I like it :thumbsu:
 
Demonland is a terrible representation of the Melbourne Footy Club fans. Period.

I can't say I've been to it much but thought about giving it some net time but if it is crap then thanks for the heads up.:thumbsu:
 
Hasn't our cheersquad reunited now? I thought the bald dude with red and blue spikes was the leader of the rebel cheersquad but I thought I saw him back in the main one.

there was nothing wrong with the red clash strip of the last 2 years, it did not clash with st kilda, fremantle, western bulldogs or essendon's strip

why did they change it?

Because they are ____heads....new guernsey means more money, in theory, forget the fact that they look horrendous and embarrass (further) our club.

Oh maybe I didn't look hard enough last game. Either way, the spikes bloke is awesome. That "official" cheersquad one behind the goals is weak as piss. I was out-chanting them at the Hawthorn game, just 40 meters away.

firstly i don't mind our new clash jumper... however if you read this article, it sounds the AFL weren't happy with a red based clash jumper, and that the club proposed an inverted clash jumper but it was knocked back by the AFL... this is an absolute joke, see my post on the main afl board...

furter, the advisory panel asked us last year if we had to add a 3rd colour to red and blue for a clash strip, what should it be? I remember answering silver... the question was obviously asked with the club looking to design a new jumper after advice from the AFL...
 
I know you don't want another colour, but it does make it easier to distinguish.

Anyone like this? And as I've noted elsewhere, it's rough as guts.

I like it but I'd prefer it as all red instead of blue on the back. And also maybe instead of having that zig-zag thing it could be slim V if you know what i mean. But good effort. :thumbsu:

Who Ever Was In Charge Of That Design Should Be Set Alight With The Jumpers!!!

Apparantley the "new" clash jumper is just going to be the reverse of the blue and red i heard. Sounds better to me but i still like maldz suggestion of the old school 80's throwback jumper as our alternate strip.

must have been pretty recent coz i remember seeing the spiked one in the mcc members with my dad a couple of weeks ago
 
how about this for the clash guernsey. still retains the v. and solves all probmlems.
