Draft Profile Clayton Collard

I was just wondering how you guys rate Clayton Collard? He looks really good during the under 18 championships. He's seems pretty fast with good skills and a great goal sense. I loved his goal in the game against Vic Metro. Hopefully he will still be available at pick 17 so carlton can pick him.

very mature body and a great size

looks more like a midfielder that is good around goals rather than a small forward that can go into the midfield

great footwork and is a fantastic kick and a great leap

agreed jetta is still very much in front of him.

kid oozes class, just have worrys about how much time he spent in the midfield at the champs. (not much) predominately played HFF, FP.

can he translate in2 a midfielder at AFL level. thats the quetion mark i have.

Averages 13 touches a game and has kicked 8 goals in 6 games.

To add to this he has moved from his former club South Fremantle, to a club which wouldn't dominate in the Ammos A grade or SWFL in Peel Thunder.

For an AFL player who has been at 2 AFL clubs and was tipped to be a first rounder in 2006, averaging 13 touches a game isn't good enough. I think he has also been dropped to the reserves for a game or 2 as well. His form doesn't deserve a 3rd chance at AFL level
