A few more notable clearances have come through.

Bennett Chelt back to Hampton
Sheehan StKC back to Moorabin
Matheson from EB to Scoresby(Only when available)

Wonder if their will be any more surprises like these 3?
Not totally surprised by the Matheson one but ,the other 2 are very interesting considering they both had cracking years in 2007.

Bennett has family ties at the club 1 year deal at Chelt.

Sheehan has had a kid and doesn't wont to train.

Matheson needs to step up a grade.

Absolute rubbish. Has had a kid which is true but has hardly missed a session since returning including tonight. Is a Moorabbin boy and came back to the club for genuine reasons along with Tarek Dimashki who has also trained consistently. Has many mates at the club including a large group of 1's blokes he plays basketball with for the last couple of years. An excellent trainer and a welcome addition back

You're as easy as catching blowfish off Mordy pier. One little angled question and you've puffed up twice your size.

Don't get sucked in so easily.... unless of coarse it touched a fillet bone and got too close to home!!! Hmmm! I luv fillets.

I noticed that you did not add another notable off season recruit that is heading down your way, one B.Williams from Noble. Would you like to enlighten us.

Was just nipping it in the bud. Dave has been fantastic since returning and been a welcome return
 
I think this season in div two will be very compeditive. moorabin will be ok and heatherton as well top 4 all will be able to win the flag. top 4 is dingley, heatherton, caufield and morabin plus oakliegh will be up there

Massive signing down at the Tunners if true.I no he did play a practice match v Mordy but they were yet to get pen to paper.:thumbsu:

Bails might have requited a couple but not enough it seems as phone call come thru today that they can only scrap up 25 odd players for Friday nights game against Springy!:confused:
 
David Arnot from Sandown Park has just moved into our league. Can anyone reveal what sort of player he is? Ones/twos? key position/midfielder? Etc...

Park Player, Scuz has chosen to come down and play at the Tunners to play with some of his good mates namely Bright Spark and myself. Heatherton in no way went out to actively recruit him he just wanted to have a kick with some friends.
It's a shame to see East Brighton have refused his clearance after some of the stuff he had to put up with over the previous 2 years. Hopefully that will be overturned prior to the start of the season.
Anyway he might be 43 yrs old but he would still be handy in most Div 2 senior sides!

At 43 someone should tap him on the shoulder and let him know he is stopping the club developing younger players for the future!!!!!!!!

The call was due to us having 18 players unavailable tonight due to illness,injury,work, travel etc. We have been cautious with players who are injured as there are no points practice games. We let springy know our situation so both sides could get as much out of the game as possible. Of the 18 unavailable all have played seniors and at least 14 probably sixteen would play round 1 against black rock if available. We felt it was important to let them know so we could work out a scenario that allows springy to get as much as possible out of the game going into next week. We would get plenty out of the game full strength or short as they are a fantastic side and will be a great test for our blokes and our depth

We have 55 players on our list for 08 up from around 38 last year we have worked very hard at improving the depth of our club. We are looking for our reserves to produce more senior quality players and in turn win more games and for our seniors to be much more competitive and consistent this season. We are very pleased that the players we have recruited are friends and/or family of existing players at the club.

Scurrah has a wealth of footy knowledge and will only help if playing 1's or 2's.Time will tell if his body will allow him to play Senior footy but,on the track his skills are still good enough for 1's footy.

I have no aliance at any club in SFL and usually just roam the boards out of interest, but had to have my 2 cents worth here.

Developing younger players? Give me a break! It's not the AFL mate, as you name suggests its just Park Footy. As a 2's player I would love to run out with a player of Scurrahs ability and knowledge, no matter what age he is. And if his form is good enough to warrent a 1's call up I would doubt that anyone would care would they?

Bottom line is that if both the bloke and the club think he can contribute in any way then I could not see a problem.
 
brightspark, what's the truth to the whisper that Jamie Merchan from Seaford is making his way to the tunners to play with some mates?

reliable source at Seaford told me yesterday that he wasn't keen to play in the 2's down there, so decided to make the move.

very handy pickup if the mail is correct.

Not true did train once and broke down.Hasn't been seen since and has retired.
