shattered to hear he went down when he was finally just strarting to get things right with form and injury again. i heard on the radio that he had torn his quad and would be out for 8 but then in the carpark on the way out i heard a few people talking about it and they all said only a corkie
does anyone know the truth? havent heard anything else because all the radio channels went straight to the dogs pies game

He was walking to shake hands at the end with no aid. If it were an 8 weeks injury I hazard he would have been on crutches! Looks like a corkie, I hope!

to early to say accurately but he hasn't torn any muscle, corkie or strain where he felt tightness 1-2 weeks out is the current assesment.

Heard from ritchie vandenberg on MMM that he has torn his quad and will be out for a long time, 6-8 weeks unfortunately, real body blow this. Just when it looks like we are getting our key players back and get the structure back in place we get injuries again, we are being crucified in this department. All the injuries sustained this yr have been significant long term 1s, no minor niggles that is what is so disappointing. JKT will come in you would think along with muston and buddy.

I'm sure there have been plenty of minor niggles, as opposed to long term injuries. It's just that the minor niggles don't get reported until they become major injuries.

Weird. Here's Clarko:
While confident the injury was not serious, Clarkson was unsure about Young's prospects of making the trip to Tasmania next week.

“He just got tightened up and soreness at half time,” he said. “We’re unsure whether he’ll be right to play next week or whether he might miss one or two games.

“It’s not a great sign if you can’t come back onto the ground but he didn’t have an event of any significance.

"How it settles down over the next couple of days will determine whether or not he plays again this week.”

Edit: connection's a bit funny atm so took a while to post. The link is the same as mustardnugget's.

LOL, how is it two diametrically different assessments are made by two insiders?

Did Vanders have inside info, or was he speculating?

Or is Clarko simply playing the Iraqi Information Minister again?

Exact same things was said about browny, and now Shhhh says he will be back sooner that 1st expected, maybe they just dont want to let the media know how bad or good our injuries are..

Just saw that article myself Lurkalot, good news indeed.

Quite surprised though after hearing a range of reports, hopefully he will be fully fit though and we don't play him injured.

Youngy likely to play this week according to Hodgey quoted in h-sun. Must take it with a grain of salt given our track record with reporting injuries to the media.

"The news is better at Hawthorn, where running defender Clinton Young is expected to play this weekend despite suffering quad tightness in the Hawks' win against Port Adelaide yesterday.
Young sat out the second half and after the game coach Alastair Clarkson indicated the club would take a cautious approach on the injury, but Young's teammate Luke Hodge said today Young had not been sent for scans.
"He said he felt it before he kicked that long goal, and then he said it just tightened up after that, so he seemed pretty confident that it wasn't too serious, and he just didn't want to risk it," Hodge said."

Hopefully his right for Saturday! He was really getting back into some good form. Last thing we need is more changes to the side.

Fantastic news IF it is just quad tightness, i'm not holding my breath on this one be great to have him right for next week.

watch a replay of the game he seems to be walking ok with a bandage on his thigh at the end of the game.

I have written a poem about the question of whether Clinton Young should play this weekend. I call it, "Doubt".

Ahem...
Doubt.
If there is doubt, there is no doubt.
Let him sit the bout out, or I'll wrinkle my snout, shout without clout and pout.
Messy out.

Thank you.
