Doesn't help that our merchandise has been crap for the last few year.
Then the things that are great like the blueout jumpers are limited so many who wanted them couldn't get them.

We all have our own beliefs and agendas and stronger opinions on different subjects. Some resonate more than others. Some personal.
I will defend everyones right to have an opinion and as such respect them.
What I personally struggle with is believing a football club must be the answer for every ill in society. Like a business they can only do their best and in the meantime still have to survive. They can't fight every battle. There isn't a simple answer to all this. Sometimes it looks like hypocrisy.
If people are angry at the club by being funded by pokies or gambling or if it was alcohol or anything else, it is their decision.
Personally, I can't hold a sporting club responsible. I think some overestimate their responsibility in society and their influence on decisions. What I try and do is look at what they do try an influence. They employ many people, support and fund womens football, do a lot of work in the community, now run a university course, they have foundations, charities, raise money for cancer, Carlton respects, Carlton listens to women and this is all from a club that has had major financial issues for years. Pokies, right or wrong have allowed that to happen.
We may not be perfect, but we are improving and are doing a lot right. Look where we have come in only 5 years. Even to the point that our players and staff are quality people.
One thing I do know for certain in my more than 60 years on this earth is that there is never an easy answer. All we can do is keep moving forward and try our best. No one can ever ask any more

Now and then I will play the pokies in a very limited way after a meal at the pub. So is that a donation to the navy blues? I would rather some of My 5 bucks wager helps us than giving it all to some other pokie owners. Quite often the meal gets paid for if one gets a win and then stops instead of being greedy then losing all of that. Yet at the same time I believe they are a curse on civillization (among many such curses too numerous to mention) and the end of them would be a good thing. I find the biggest problem to be that a whole room of people are silently looking at a machine in a kind of stupor almost as if they also are machines. That said I am not responsible for them that cant make a decision on when to stop any more than someone that chooses to drink to excess or whatever it may be. So lets get the club and sport and humanity away from that revenue and lifestyle by all means. But it takes time. What does the club do in the meantime? Take a moral stand or survive. Its a true dilemna.

True enough, but the are different apps and different ways you can use the app, so there's a skill element and usually a knowledge reward alongside that.
Pokies have no skill, and the reward beyond money is extremely primal and the event itself is not weighted fairly.
