Just wondering.... how do you take control of the national teams in the game?

You can do it when you begin a new game.

For example if you want to take control of Australia, you go to Leeds and then click on one of their Australian players e.g Harry Kewell. Then click on where it says Australian before his caps and goals and the take control screen should appear in the top right corner of the Australian team.

Also, the country which you intend taking control off must be an active league in your game. That is, you cannot be coach of Turkey if you did not "activate" their league at the start of the game.

...or you could earn the national job like I did as Barca/Spain manager.

On the new version the league doesn't have to be active to take control of some countries such as France and Italy if you running the English legue. The larger the database the more countries you are able to take control of.
