I had the fiance out tonight, the house to myself, & thought I wouldn't get the most of the freedom; glumly expected a shit boring night of footy switching between the footy, the golf, my book & maybe some Red Dead.

It's called the 19th man. The crowd have been asked by the Club to make as much noise as possible to put the opposition player off their shot. It seems to work quite well.

There was also the fact that some of your goals were direct results of poor umpiring decisions, so odds are the umpire was getting the boos a fair bit of the time.

Geelong didn't . Gary Ablett, at his best, would've won the game alone, but either Reilly did an unbelievably amazing job on negating the star, or he was carrying an injury into the game...or both.

i always thought it was part of the game...we make noise to try and put the opposition off their shots on goal. it's not like we're booing the player.

Every sport, every time, since sport began - home crowd tries to put off opposition when shooting to score.

Just the Adelaide crowd is very good at it now...
