Would be thrilled to get any of Hayes, Sewell, Giansiracusa, Ling, Mooney, Scarlett in for any role. I have no real insight but not sure that McQualter and Bailey were inspired choices for development coaches, and Lade is a liability IMO.

Bailey had big wraps from his time at Hawthorn, was almost working as another coach he spent so much time on the sidelines. As for McQualter he spent time at GC working as a development player/coach also worked under Ross Lyon so pretty decent upbringing, especially considering the awesome development currently on display at GC i think he looks okay.

Have to remember they work more with the VFL team and they are themselves still learning which i think people forget is another important reason for the VFL is to develop coaches for the future.

The bigger problem is replacing experienced assistants, especially not with ones who have come from a previous environment involving Hardwick. I mean someone from Collingwood, Geelong and the Swans who will pressure Dimma as well as provide a different POV.

Yes yes yes but seriously , what could he learn under Hardwick other than how to make excuses and nearly cry at press conferences . He can YouTube Kim Hughes press conference when he stepped down as Australian Captain because he was shit and then go to a club and learn from a decent coach.

We'll need to wave some serious coin under his nose.

Isn't that rumour from Brian Wowee Taylor?

I heard Matty Lloyd say it then the fat **** Taylor backed him up.

Also Peg said two weeks ago at the Presidents lunch that we will be "forensically scrutinising our football department over this coming off-season"

He is a good player no doubt. What would Lenny bring as an assistant coach.
A midfield coach so we can put Danny Daley back in charge of the forward line then we put Lade back as Ruck coach and make Shaun Hampson live with him and follow his every move before the players out him in a circle and box him Robert walls style at Brisbane

Please start now . Get the seaman light out in Dimma straight away I'm sure he'll have spots all over him like on CSI

The fact that he s been a revered figure for some time would suggest he has some innate qualities that would make a good coach. I hope he s part of a sneaky succession plan that BG is concocting , do it

We often bemoan a lack of premiership success as being ingrained in our club culture of late. How many premierships has he played in?
I know that doesn't translate into anything in particular, but his lack of team success is not worrying to you?
Honest question. No right or wrong answer IMO.

Clarkson, Roos, Pagan and Joyce never played in a Premiership.

Fair point. You pulled Alan Joyce out of your arse though.

Not as many flags as dimma lade and choco but as many as Roos ....he looks to be of a character type that would thrive as coach in the modern era, much like Roos, Hird and even the laconic bomber Thomson have. He s 34 give him 2 seasons then make him senior coach

Lets hope those who make these decisions get it right.

To be fair he was part of a Saints side that was right there in the mix for half a decade, just couldn't take that final step coming up against side like Geelong Hawthorn & Collingwood. So in that regard Lenny does have an idea of what it takes to at least be in with a real chance of winning the flag. I'd also suggest that Lenny would be of real benefit to our young midfield brigade when it comes to teaching them about being elite midfielders. In fact I'd suggest he has much more of an idea than our current midfield coaches do.

I don't know much about Lenny as a person but if he coaches how he plays then he'd be a great get.

Met Lenny a couple of times, he's a top bloke. Must admit both he and I were smashed both times I met him, but still top bloke
