This will sound a bit ridiculous but there was something Stuart did that Rocket never did at the start.

When he spoke of the club he said 'our' instead of speaking like an outsider coming in. Subtle but I think it's an interesting sub conscious indicator of emotional investment.

I couldn't agree more, Rocket NEVER took ownership of the club or the players he always acted and spoke like he was a hired gun sent to fix the place

You guys have an absolute cracker in Dew. Would've loved to have him at Adelaide.

Grew up with the bloke - has something that not many have, hidden talents some say haha. Wherever he has been he's seen success and he will probably be able to teach a couple of the younger lads how to hit a target (best kick I've ever seen). Really stoked for both Stewey and you guys and hopefully he can help you climb the ladder. He's one of the lads, but will be able to step aside and most importantly be the coach when needed as well. Best of luck!

Haven't heard him speak yet but just read the article on afl.com.au and his mention of catching up with lynch and his views of success, just oozes confidence that he knows how to bring in a successful culture. I'd bet my house that Lynch stays beyond 2018.

Good work Suns. Massive signing. I actually wanted him to coach us when we were looking but he neglected to put his name forward, probably because he knew that we were going in the Fagan direction (similar to when he withdrew during the Hinkley process).
Poor Barker, come 2nd twice haha.

"I'll have those conversations and I'll make sure they understand that I've got a clear view of what a successful environment looks like and I'd love them to be part of it,"

I'm moist.
Although Dew could say anything at the moment and we would eat it up. But this is what we need and what we didn't have with Bluey particularly. This guy has been in a successful environment for the past 15 years just about. He knows what one looks like and won't take any soft s**t.

Reckon Lynch and Dew will be peas in a pod.

Didn't quite work out as well as we wanted, but this reminds me of Lynch going down to chat with Malceski. Good initiative.

Was dew in charge of a line at Sydney? I know he was development coach at one point.

Started as a Development Coach in 2009. Became an assistant coach in charge of defence for 2011 and moved to stoppages coach in 2012 before coming midfield and strategy coach in 2014 ever since.

Nice a really good spread of responsibility. And areas we need help in the most. Stoppages, midfield, defence and development.
