Well here are my thoughts on the coaches in question:
Dean Solomon - must keep. been at the suns since the beginning, highly regarded both by the suns and in AFL circles, and one of only six coaches accepted into the AFL's exclusive coaching accreditation course this year.
Andy Lovell - highly regarded both by the suns and in AFL circles, and apparently ran a close second to Rocket for top job back in 2014. He was chosen to coach the indigenous all-stars a couple of years ago too. However he is the defensive coach, and given how bad the suns are at defending, surely we give the role to someone else. The backline is probably one of the most damaging in the comp, but the defending is a big problem.
Matthew Primus - seems to be doing a good job with the midfield. His experience would be valuable too, so I'd say keep him.
Ash Prescott - forward line doesn't seem to be doing that great. Probably the most disposable of the four main assistant coaches.

Also, a candidate I think the suns should consider for senior coach or senior assistant would be Mark Williams. He was able to settle down Dustin Martin and get the best out of him, and might just be able to get Dusty to the club. Also, I feel his tough coaching style might be the shake-up the suns need. Rocket & Bluey were both fairly relaxed easygoing coaches who do sometimes fire up, but Choco seems like a more demanding coach who would not accept subpar performances.

Not sure you can advocate to keep all these guys saying they've done a good job whilst also canning rocket.

And where did I say all these guys should be retained? I gave both negatives and positives for Lovell, but didn't give any indication whether we should keep him or not. I also said Prescott was the most disposable, so if anything I'm saying he should go. Only one I said suns should definitely keep is Solomon.

We defiantly need an experienced assistant from a club who can help with our defensive system, offensively we don't stack up that bad but defensively we are in the bottom 2 in the league for most defensive stats which matter. at times looks like we have no defensive system at all as teams cut us to pieces especially on turn over. Someone who has worked under and learned from Ross Lyon, Paul Roos, Clarko etc would be top priority imo

Yeah he is a massive asset. I wouldn't mind if the suns made him senior coach tbh. I reckon that if they go hard for someone like Roos, then a succession plan with Solomon would be a good idea if whoever is targeted doesn't want to commit long-term.

Don't understand why everyone has a hard on for Solomon. Done nothing in 7 years. But he's a good bloke and highly respected apparently. Proof is in the pudding.

ha. No I think his time under Clarkson has steadied him. Besides in hindsight I think it was fair to say Rattan was actually a decent coach considering what he got out of that rubbish Carlton list.

I think Lovell and Solomon should stay and wouldn't be opposed to Solly getting the nod for head coach, my wish is we get Stewie Dew as head coach, no baggage, no sacking in his history, done his time at a winning club and a tough club
Ashcroft, Primus and Prescott leave and Rocket gets a Guernsey in the organisational area of the footy dep't
