I would have thought he was pretty settled in Sydney now?
Kurt has mentioned a couple of years back that he would like to pursue coaching when his time is up.. He is late to the game but those guys are often the ones who have had to study the game to get up to speed and thus make great coaches.. former Gold Coaster Ben Hudson is a perfect example.. Hudson actually mentored a young Tippett at the crows..
The way Tippo got to the Swans was messy and the perception of him is way off the mark..
You wouldn't meet too many better blokes than Kurt.. he will make a fine ruck coach.. but honestly he could end up anywhere.. he could travel the world or end up surflifesaving at Miami... who knows..

Does anyone remember the rumours that Tippett may actually be traded to the Suns at the end of last year? I think I read somewhere that Dew had a good relationship with him. Perhaps this has been on the cards for a while and they've planned on bringing him in as a player/coach to help with the academy? Similar to what they did with Raines. Having locals involved in the academy program is probably a good thing.

Gee you gentlemen are a forgiving bunch, better men than I am. He burnt his bridges with me when he was giving every indication of wanting to come back up here and then ended up at the Ugly Ducks.

Can't hold grudges forever, mate. Do you think at the end of last year the Cats even thought twice about the way Ablett left them back in 2010? I seriously doubt it. At the end of the day, the most important goal is winning a premiership in the quickest and most efficient way possible. Does Tippett have anything to offer the Suns from a coaching perspective? I would have thought the answer would be yes given the fact that he's been in the system for 11 years with very successful teams. I know he did some work with the Swans academy back in the day so perhaps that's the place for him if the Suns do decide to recruit him. The fact that he's a local is an added bonus and gives the young lads an example to look at and believe they can also make it to the big time.

Where's Skav when you need him? He'd find a way to spice up this rumour.

Im seeing the coaches and Dew copping a bit of heat..
Well deserved.

What if the players want to run harder for longer. Want to crash into the bigger oppisition players.
But dont physically have the stamina and strength to do what the coaching staff is asking of them.

Yes they might he all young etc.

But at worst if there endurence was up they’d run and tackle all year.
Non existent atm.

If its in there 5m zone they give it a crack. Apart from that no ones pushing forward or back to help team mates out.

I really think if the Club spent more money on getting the players the most fittest in the comp.
Skills would be cleaner.
Hit the scoreboard better.
More players pusing back to defend.

In the early days our players did altitude training in America and they did seem to be able to be at it for longer in games back then

In general.
Ive mentioned it before.

One reason or another? The players we draft maybe?

Our team seems alot leaner and lighter then oppisition teams.

Skill error , effort can only take you so far ( sexton ,young and Holman etc)

For me looks like the game plan the players look lost in between attack and defence and continually lose structure and then looks like effort is not there because they aren’t where they should be.. in 2014 our best year on record we were a highly attacking team but still couldn’t defend rocket came in 2015 and tried to play defensive and we couldn’t so went back to attack with slowly adding defensive layers then when Solomon tried to instil the defensive game last year we got smashed..
2018 we start the year on fire a high pressure tackling forward pressure side play a couple of high scoring attacking teams and can’t defend and then downhill from there trying to play defensive against all teams!
It was reported that when saad went to Essendon he didn’t know how to set up defensively and he’s a defender

One thing I saw last night is he is very slow in making moves , we where 90 pts down before changing the midfield up , if the kids are not cutting it just don’t leave them there and destroy there confidence.

Is it upto Dew?

Or does the midfield coach have 80% control of his midfield on game day?

Then again, everything should come theough Dew on game day!! :/

I think if he plan to bomb it long , 2mp , day and Lynch should play together , every ball is been mark by GWS players , sometime three on 1.

Stew Dew needs QUAILTY help.
Mark Evans needs to shift foundation development coaches
along with Prescott and Primus.
Enough is enough
Mark Evans the Suns coaching team needs REAL change.

Amen....serious heavy hitters like Roos, Voss, McCartney, MWilliams as assistants

And even look at the likes of Sheedy or Malthouse as part time mentors overseeing culture

Need some fresh people , and people that done a rebuild before (Paul Roos )
1) Mc Veigh (Sam Mitchell type of transition)
2) Shaun Burgoyne ( same as above)
3)Jarrad McVeigh
4) Barlow /Risca /( playing coach /GC academy coach ) . NEAfL non AFL listed .

wasn't all this what george stone was brought in to do? to help dew? if anything he should be mentioned in these conversations as well.

George Stone has been here 6 months to help Dew.

He doesn't get thrown into the same pot as Primus, Prescott and Solomon go into as they have been here much of the time we have been poor.

Yep if the afl are serious about us they need to forget about the SOFT cap on football department spending and just go all out and get the best in the business to help Dew

not trying to take the focus away from those guys, i mean more in relation to the talk about getting someone like paul roos to help out. isn't that what stone is meant to be doing?

George Stone was Paul Roos longest serving and most trusted assistant - Having Stone would definitely help attract Roos in some sort of consultant/mentor role

Andrew Jarman on triple m Adelaide this afternoon says his mail is chocco Williams is coming to us as senior assistant next season.
Having said that, he rarely gets good mail.
Big no to getting Chocco he burnt a lot of bridges at the Tigers and the Giants before that

Do you think we’ve under achieved this year? I think we are exactly where I thought we’d end up with no midfield and Hanley, Fiorini, KK, Wright, Barlow not playing much. Stone was more a mentor to bounce things off than a senior assistant.
