Do you think we’ve under achieved this year? I think we are exactly where I thought we’d end up with no midfield and Hanley, Fiorini, KK, Wright, Barlow not playing much. Stone was more a mentor to bounce things off than a senior assistant.

I’d be replacing Stone with Roos in a perfect world

Choco can replace Primus

Stone seems to be a Dew/Evans appointment. He's one of the most successful in his role in the AFL, so let's see him return and hear how the players view him.

And you 17er I’m thinking about getting you a job at the Suns...what was that job George Kostanza had at the Yankees???
Umm...
“Assistant to the Travelling Secretary”
Evans-get it done.

No doubt Vic media will twist it into “ more people leave the struggling Suns”

I have never rated Primus, seems lazy and inept, I remember sitting with SUNS at a GWS v Suns game in Sydney a year or 2 ago and watching Primus during the reserves and he spent more time on his phone than watch the game.

I know we have had a shocking year but this is another positive sign from Dew and Evans. Now all we need is Dew to tell Evans to **** off at trade time and don’t promise kids that we will get them to the club.

Or maybe brief the player to not say publicly that we promised we'd do a deal at the very least

Dew effect. Will put money on an assistant for 2019 being one of Josh Francou, Adam Kingsley, or one of the assistants from Sydney or Hawthorn where he has relationships/trust.
I'd doubt he'd chase Francou or Kingsley after their respective efforts at Adelaide and St Kilda this year.

+1 for Choco Williams, a great development coach and teacher (just ask Dustin Martin). Might clash with a few others but if harnessed his feedback and independent thinking could be what a fledgling team needs. And he's not a dickbag dinosaur like Rodney Eade.

Would love to get Choco Williams for the development aspect.
Caracella is another that I hope we throw some good money at. One of the people that helped turn Richmond into the high scoring, high pressure steamroller of a team they are today

Choco too old school , I question his hunger in development or step aside if he had a clash of idea with Dew.
Mitchell under Simpson
Kirk under Longmuir
Justin Longmuir under Buckley
Hodge the player coach under Fagan
Choco under Dew just look weird , is like asking Malthouse under Buckley .

No doubt in my mind that our midfield should be better.
What do Lovell and Primus know other than failure push button repeat?
Thing I find a little bit strange about that is Matt Primus has always been midfield and ruck coach yet Andy Lovell is backline coach not sure why the report is saying they both line coach the mids. Our midfield hasn't functioned well but arguably our backline has held up OK under immense pressure the large part of the year, the part I really don't get is our forward line is a complete shambles and Prescott is staying, the midfield and forward set up and structure needs the most help
The boys have known for a while that this was the decision but the club wanted it kept quiet for a few weeks
I agree they need to make sweeping changes ( which is hard because these guys have families and commitments here on the coast) even if for changes sake but the proof will be in who comes in next and how much of a step change they can make with our list
It occurred to me they may move Malceski into the role of backline coach

You could be right with Malceski. If so - Raines could be promoted to NEAFL coach and a Risca / Rosa type might take over Academy coaching as Raines did at his retirement ?
Obvious intention is to import a higher profile midfield coach - someone on same wave length as Dew (Brett Kirk , Jude Bolton ? - maybe not but I'm sure he has someone in mind )

I'd be suprised if they didn't have at least a verbal agreement in place at this stage.
