After not quite 1 full season in charge, for mine the jury is still out on TheDew.

But now gets his first crack at the off-season (the departures, the mature recruits, the new staff, the development program for the young players, plus some input in draftees).

And gets to reflect on being a senior AFL coach for the first time. Would hope he is better in year 2 at most parts of the job.

I was probably less fussed about match day selections this year than others. Some head scratchers, but with more say in the list and staff, would hope for some consistency and accountability.

Big task = turn Lemmens into a proper AFL footballer. You know, one with skills.

Never have too many quality human beings around the place
Andrew Swallow might be some of that extra expenditure on player development they are talking about … he would've been a good get last year - but maybe budgets then didn't allow for it .?
Maybe he'll be able to assist at NEAFL level as a playing Development Coach ?
Been good for Aspley this year.

Andrew Swallow possibly coming to us in potentially a player development role was seen touring the facilities the other day
Bring him in I say! Continue to grow the family/local culture. I was pleased to read Drummond was keen to come to us because he 'wanted to come home'. The more people we can bring in that want to be here, the better.

It was put to the coaching group and only two coaches wanted him and apparently Stewie said no to getting Andrew, wasn't money he was coming for cheap

Tate Kaesler coming to us from Adelaide plus Francou as we knew

Not having any trouble getting coaches to come to us

Tate Kaesler, Team Defence Specialist Coach
Tate Kaesler has a wealth of experience as a player and coach. He notched 180 games with SANFL clubs North Adelaide and Sturt, winning two best and fairests and three premierships in the Reserves. After retiring as a player in 2007, Kaesler fed his desire to stay involved with football by serving as an Assistant Coach for the U20 South Australian State Team of 2008. He then joined Adelaide’s coaching ranks in a development role in late 2009 and was tasked with developing Adelaide's young forwards at SANFL level. Kaesler's role now focuses on refining the Crows' defensive structures under Senior Coach Don Pyke.

I think Don Pyke has done some real damage to the culture at The Crows - quite a few to jump ship staff and players and keen to do so straight away

Adelaide is peculiar, great following, great stadium, pretty successful, yet it seems a fair number of players and their staff it seems want to jump off.
