Why are the Dockers fans so cocky about the Derby? Or do they know the truth is out there, and once again the Eagles will win their next 2 games and the Dockers will lose theirs and it will be the same old scenario? :D

Dockers fans are numb to reality most of the time so I think it's that they are just cocky.

As sera said they are like this before every derby and their 21% winning percentage in those games does not seem to factor into their thoughts before they open their mouths.

It remains beyond me why anyone would support them, particularly when you consider the cross-town alternative ;)
 
If you take the form of both teams over the past few weeks, you might just think Freo was some sort of a chance to beat the Eagles, no matter who you go for. If you're hoping to beat Freo just to wipe the grins off their fan's faces then I suggest you take your Freo scarff out of your handbag and give it to somebody who might really want it. If you think about what you wrote for more than 2 seconds, you may actually see that you are the one who is being cocky unless your magic crystal ball has told you already that the eagles will beat freo in round 22.

You guys are funny.

All year, you have been talking premierships and such even though you were never going to win it. All we are hoping for is to do alright in the finals. Have we been mentioning premierships and such? And we are the ones numb to reality? Get real.

And you guys seem incredibly hung up on the Dockers. I've read a lot of posts by Eagle supporters that say we will get done by Essendon. We might, but geez, I wonder why you care so much.

I think you will find amongst most of the Eagles posters on this board a restrained approach to talk of premierships (this year at least). There have been some talking the eagles up but by and large they aren't West Coast supporters. Have a look back and see.

(Look particularly around round 12 re: the Brisbane game.) Wasn't it then when your mob started a thread dedicated to us getting thumped by the lions. Guess the pre-occupation goes both ways eh Kenny?

And does Pav know you use his head for your own gain?!! He should be in an Eagles jumper not a Dockers one .... he's WAY to hot for them :p

Yes, obviously the pre-occupation goes both ways, but I am sicking of hearing "oh but Dockers supporters main goal is to finish above us". Some people care about their cross town rivals, some don't, but in general, it goes both ways.

Yes, the preoccupation does go both ways, but as Kenny said, you are the ones who believe our main goal is to finish above you. I'll admit it is in the back of our minds (as it would be for most of you), but we realize the more important thing to consider is where we finish in comparison to the rest of the league.

I'd rather rather finish second with the Eagles first than finish eighth with the Eagles ninth.
 
Aren't Dockers supporters always cocky around Derby time. I agree they are playing good football but they haven't lost as many key players as we have in recent weeks especially key players in the engine room. You tell me a side who loses three key players from their midfield and doesn't have problems. With Gards and Embers back for the Derby we should be able to nail another one against the mob down the road and set us up for a good crack at the finals.

Sorry, can you show me where the the Eagles' poster say we're going to go premiers this year?

The other point being DJBJ is that you said the "sweetest" win you've witnessed was the round 22 derby of 2000 when the dockers claimed the highest spot on the ladder of the two teams. Are you being a bit hypocritical or just forgetful???
