My cuz is pumping coffees in Bondi.
See my edited postThat's not so bad. Baristas pull professional wages these days, how hard can it be to make coffee. That said I have stopped going to cafes because they changed baristas and their coffee turned ****** overnight.

As a barista G-train, I am not pulling a professional wage, making bad coffee is easy, making one good coffee is easy, making consistently good coffee over a whole shift, especially during the very busy periods, is the challenge.
Two Bob snob in CheltenhamThe weirdest thing now is how many St Kilda coffee shops are opening in the US and europe. Not just Melbourne but specifically St Kilda. There was one with St K. ( that looked like our cap logo) recently opened and plenty of derivations on that theme. There was a French lady that opened a St Kilda style breakfast and coffee shop in Paris and has had t open another shops. I went half way across Paris to drink decent coffee at an Aussie guys cafe. French coffee is like milk with a slightly coffee flavour. Even Italy has shit coffee in general. Any way lots of Melbourne baristas are over seas and heaps are from NZ - I guess they are good stand ins for Aussies.

Place is crying out for them and one of the best (of a very small number) is owned by a guy from Melbs.
Try getting a decent coffee anywhere in Europe, except Italy.I had a disgusting Coffee in a Starbucks in HK , but hey i needed the free wifi .

God the coffee I had in England when I was there around 2003. France was no better. Ireland I didn't even bother, given the quality of their food. America the following year was a tiny little bit better, but only because it couldn't have been worse. If you come to Japan, yeah go looking for an Aussie cafe, they're here and there. There's only about 1 non-Aussie cafe that I would bother ordering a coffee at, mostly just make it myself.Try getting a decent coffee anywhere in Europe, except Italy.
Going back to Britain next year and hear London had got lots of Aussie type cafes now.

Brilliant Melbourne style coffee in Barcelona from Aussie owned cafes there. Hard to beat genuine Italian cappuccino in Rome. Melbourne coffee is starting to become more available globally. Great places in Singapore and New York. Some passable cafes in London. But back to the draft...The only truly good coffee I had in Europe was at a bar/cafe in Rotterdam. Fantastic flat white with a tiny stroopwaffle (syrup waffle) and a small water chaser for like 2.50 euro. Genuinely rivalled Melbourne.
Everywhere else was utter garbage though.
The drip type coffee in Japan was awesome. St. Ali in Melbourne serve it.God the coffee I had in England when I was there around 2003. France was no better. Anyway back to the draft chat. Where were we? Cerra and somebody?
