Vickery was outstanding in the ruck for Coburg last weekend (according to the Rawlings report). His only weakness was not enough overhead marking. Why not play him ahead of the slow lumbering Simmonds? That guy does not deserve to play if last weeks form is a guide! And it's on the large and fast Subiaco oval, so it would have made sense for the young gun to debut as second string to Patto.

simmonds is bloody lucky gus aint right....that comment on Vick tells me he's still a way off, from what Ive seen id rate him a 3/10 on overhead marking, needs to be twice that to make any impact at senior level...not playing against 168cm opponents this year boyo

Sandilands coudl be the only ruckman in the league Simmonds could run down lmao, 2nd thoughts ....no Vickery did really really well last Sunday in the ruck against Laycock but got towelled up around the ground IMHO. Coming along nicely though.

He played a shocker last week but harsh to be dropped.
I thought his other games were great considering the amount of game time he's had in the last few seasons.

See this is what I mean! Wallace always makes these stupid f&cked up rash decisions to drop any player who played a shocker last week! Coughlan will probably take it on the chin, but I reckon it really affects our younger core of players when he does this! Wallace, you've completely lost the plot!!!

Did play a terrible game last week, but prob rested for the long flight, hard ground reasons as said.

As for people saying he would struggle at subi, he has had dominant games there before, one in particular i remember against freo where he grabbed 35 odd touches and a goal.

it suks big time. he has 1 bad game and gets the flick. raines played 2 bad games in a row and he is only being dropped now.
the last time coughie played at subi he racked up about 36 disposals and had an awesome game. he is from WA for 1 thing and 2 after last week he would definitely lift his game. obviously he is a hard worker. wallace should know that by now.
go tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he should not have got dropped. but you cant go missing and have no impact like he did early. bring him back next week and he will work much harder you can be sure of that.

Do people selectively read posts? Or do they just get a pre-conceived thought into their head and refuse to acknowledge anything that contradicts this notion?

Coughlan clearly wasn't dropped on form. He has been rested, primarily due to the nature of the playing surface and location of the match venue.

I fully expect, given a clean bill of health out of the Coburg game, that he will return for Friday night's game against Western.
