'Cold' Premiums - Franklin

Franklin, Hodge, etc..

Hodge is averaging just over 89 points a round, but atleast he's improving.

Franklin hit 119 in his first and then hasn't hit 100 since then. And is getting worse.


At what time, do you cut the loses and say, screw this, he isn't performing, I'll go with someone else



Now I know that the common thing around here is, he's a prem, he'll lift. But for fks sake, 5/6 rounds are bad. One round, 6 rounds ago Franklin played well. I paid nearly 600k for this fella and he's performing worse than 219k skippy.


Is there any SC future for this guy, or was he a one season wonder. (in terms of being a big gun prem)

I think the only reason for getting him is because everyone else will so you don't miss the big score if it comes

I traded him in this week and targeted this round for having him in i know he didn't score well this week but im glad he is in for the game against Essendon where he traditionally tears them a new one, if he struggles against them them maybe some questions must be asked. Once the hawks are up and fully firing and destroying teams again you'll regret it if you trade him out.

He's surely got to get into some form. He's being sort of upstaged by Roughead at the minute, but he is surely too talented to stay ordinary.

I am sure fully fit he will be a SC gun. My concern is picking him assuming things will return to normal when, in truth, he's playing with an injury. If so, how long for??

Hawthorn should be obliged to fully inform DT and SC coaches of his fitness status

I went to the footy today with my Hawks mate and he plays SC too (he is in my league).

Anyways I hardly noticed Franklin today and he went off the ground a few times so not sure whats going on there.

Wasn't till the last quarter when he did a few things and kicked a couple of goals that he got most of his score. I was actually surprised that he got 70 SC points, thought it may have been 50-60 instead.

My mate reckons Buddy is carrying a slight injury too.

You need to consider that the Hawks are still missing a lot of their best 22 and consequently the delivery to Buddy isn't as often nor as good as it was last year. I've had him from the start in both DT & SC and will hold onto him. I've had too many injuries to worry about using a trade on an out-of-form gun.

Should find some real form next week, his last 3 games against Essendon produced scores of 189, 108 and 160. If he struggles against them then its time to hit the panic button.

Was terrible today, his form is a real concern ATM. Definitely wouldn't surprise if he was carrying something.

That said, I still 100% plan on bringing him in 1-2-or 3 weeks time, depending on his b/e's. I never got him from the start cos he's just one of those players who inevitably goes through peaks and troughs, and was always going to be a bargain at some stage. His form is a worry, but he's too good to not come good. To those that do have him, I can understand your frustration, but hang in there and do NOT trade him out, he'll make you pay if you do.

I'm not even worried, he's playing BAD footy and still scoring around 80. I bought him as a keeper, so I'm keeping him.
