Polak and Richo should be the two bigs with Brown and Pettifer also down there

Maybe also have Deledio, Morton, Tambling and maybe Cotchin rotating through the midfield/forward line possibly and Riewoldt starting to prove this theory right:
Riewoldt>>Hughes>>>>>>>>>Schulz

Lids will spend a good proportion of time forward i reckon...he could kick 40-50 goals...is a gun

was tossing and turning over what will be an exciting forward line come 2008

Tambling.....Richo.....Brown

Delidio.......Polak......Pettifer

or

Cotchin .....Richo.....Morton

Brown.....Delidio.....Pettifer

just settle down boys...it's coming , I know it is...:thumbsu:
The obvious weakness is at CHF. I don't think either Polak or Deledio are permanent answers there, but both can swing through there when necessary. Deledio could play a role across there at times but will also better serve us elsewhere. Polak is better suited to defence but can be swung forward when required. We need Reiwoldt, Hughes, Schulz or Goudis to stand up in the long term to fill a spot there.

Im not sure that defence is Pollys go...loose checking sweepers last 2 minutes in this game....he has great hands , can read the play, simply needs to sharpen his kicking to make an impact at CHF...He'll get plenty of chances and expect to see Lids leading up across HF also:thumbsu:

IMO I think Polak will be used as a forward with us giving Schulz one last chance at Defence.

Pettifer - Richo - Brown
Deledio - Polak - Edwards

agree with that, with Browny up and about and Lids showing his wares as a forward...sarge is not required in F50...he will be given a chance at CHB

Deledio will pinch hit at full forward much the same way Gavin Brown did for Collingwood in the early nineties. There's no way he'll play CHF. Polak won't play CHF either. When he went down forward last year he was leading out from the square. More chance that Simmonds and Patto will swap there as they have more mobility.

Richo will be left in the pocket and asked to lead up to the flank and even wing. He might be getting old but he still is super fit. Keeping close to goal is not an asset for the Jack Dyer medalist. 50+ goals last year wasn't a great return for the amount of times he was spotted up on the lead.

We'll probably need more than one left footer in the forward line for balance. Connors may be brought on in place of Brown when he is moved to the wing or rotated on the bench.

I wouldn't mind seeing Raines tried up there also in a Schneider (formerly Sydney) and Chapman (Geelong) role providing he is prepared to improve his tackling. Wallace can't afford to crucify him down in the backline on tall forwards again - Raines doesn't have the fortitude of say a Campbell Brown although he might gain some when allowed to build his confidence inside 50. Besides, playing on defenders may teach him a thing or two about the deficiencies in his own game down back last year.
