Best wishes to him and the Club following his heart attack last week.

Grown up around Col. A sometimes nauseatingly good bloke, brilliant intellect, inclusive management style and a massive part of your success, though he'd never say that.

Loves his Club with a passion I naively thought was reserved for Tigers fans...

Cheers and looking forward to a speedy recovery.

Obviously I wish him, and all people in his situation, the best.

However does that mean he is still going to be our President ? Is there going to be a fill in President until he recovers ? What is the state of play ?

Presumably, Gareth Andrews will take over until Carter is fit enough to resume his duties, unless of course he feels like he can't go on, in which case Andrews or one of the other board members would be likely to take over and another board member would be elected. Given the typical age of an AFL club president, as unfortunate as it is, clubs would have contingencies in place for something like this.

Hope Colin Carter makes a very speedy recovery. At a time like this, it's probably a good thing that he is very much a behind-the-scenes operator and therefore his illness will probably not attract a lot of external media attention.

He does seem like a quiet, unassuming kind of guy. As others have said, won't draw much attention because of this, which is a good thing. Will give him and his loved ones a bit of space-all the best to him

Felt pains 9 courses into 14 course degustation lunch at the Drum, hosted by a Geelong coterie at which no doubt the discussions were 100% footy.
I'm very glad he's going well, and will in all probability come back 100%, but gee whiz, there would be worse ways/ places to go...
Cheers:thumbsu:

Cautious but glad to hear of optimistic news. Hope he gets time with his friends and family, a speedy recovery and back to the job when he feels and wants to be ready.

Go Catters

Hasn't Gareth just quit the board?

Am I missing something? What is 'rude' health?

Hope that helps.;)
