that coming from a Essendon supporter - You are all ********ers.........The Wiz is the most knowledgeable poster of u/18 footballers in Australia. He is a credit to us because he supplies us with so much of his wisdom.
 
He's draftee profiles last year were way off on what they should have been. GOALden Hawks profiles are even closer!

i am only speak from an eagles perspective but Wiseby identified Sam Butler has top shelf quality last year when others like Goalden Hawk (dont mean to attack) had him going in the 50's. Sam went on to play 12 games, win a rising star nomination and average the most possesions a game out of every draftee taken in his year; 14 a game. not many people, especially thsoe 'stay at home' recruiters that live here and various forums thought Sam was any good at all.
 
He's only put up the Collingwood draftees thus far, which is fair enough in my eyes.

Hopefully it shouldn't be too long till he begins putting the rest up.

Don't mean to be picky, but Beau Waters actually averaged the most disposals out of the 2003 class.

Beau Waters: 13.80
Sam Butler:13.67

I think people on this board in general are very Pro-Victorian and generally underate 'interstate' players.

Sure he thought McGough was a champion (likened him to Micheal Voss), Jason Cloke was a terrific player (called him Jakovich type ) and Delsanto was a dud (thought he would not make the grade), but these errors happen.

The point is he writes long winded profiles, and anyone who writes so much must know what they are talking about.

Thats my opinion anyway.
 
FFS, its hardly an exact science. How many bloody club recruiters get it wrong? I'd rather read Colins opinions knowing that he actually goes to games and sees these kids than some of the 'experts' here and elsewhere. He's not going to get them 100% right all the time, but he's a hell of a lot more credible than some here give him credit for.

Atleast Col gets off the couch and out into the elements to see the players week in week out. He writes what he sees and he doesn't bow to outside influences.

He makes mistakes but don't we all. There are plenty of others that also pick some 'wronguns' and these guys a getting paid the big bucks to get it right.

Get off his back. He should be supported for the time he puts into his hobby.
 
He has his blindspots and I reckon he pumps up the magpie draftees once he knows who they are, but his reports aren't bad- I've certainly found him very accurate for WC draftees over the last couple of years.

9/10 draft pundits have never seen the bulk of draftees play- they just go on what the general opinion is already, and couch their reviews in vague terms that could mean anything- Wisbey at least goes and looks for himself.

Realistically, its an inexact science- guys who clubs pay on a full time basis to look at young talent and predict who will be good and who is a waste of time get it wrong fairly frequently- would be interested to compare Wisbey's strike rate (people he definitely earmarked as guns, people he definitely earmarked as duds) versus the average AFL recruiter's.
 
No one is saying he is perfect with all his descriptions........

but the man watches over 70 games of TAC cup a year for god's sake...thats over 70 more than i do...

and since thats the case..i like reading his reports....gives u an understanding
 
i cannot believe this!!

Wiseby profiles are amazingly accurate. he describes every facet of a guys ability perfectly. of course an assesment on whether they will make or not is a very hard call to make but the descriptions are right on.

its people who pay him out that stop him from showing his profiles, so even if u dont like them, button it!
 
some of the parasites that attack U/18 diehards like Colin Wisbey should have a good, hard look at yourselves.

the gall to even question HIM when the likelyhood is YOUR own club recruiters have stuffed up more times than they'll ever care to admit.

check out all the draft purists like Colin and Golden Hawk and you'll find information on players than AFL clubs probably didn't realise.

they don't get paid to do this it's just for the love of the game, something most of YOU thickheads can't understand.
