I agree we get treated like Kings, but then again, that's what we are to the AFL. It is great to see many MCG games. It is the greatest stadium in the world and it is our home.

Good fixture, and like the idea of playing Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane twice.

This isn't a reason for playing there 15 times, however.

This fixture is a joke. No team, irrespecitve of their membership, should have 15 games at home and not leave home after round 12.

Blatant bias.

HAVE FUN IN TASSIE MATE NEXT YEAR YOU LOSER

Anyway, i could be wrong, but i thought it was a given and that we already knew that we were getting 15 games at the MCG?

Spot on eddie, When you get the crowds we do you deserve to be playing in the biggest and best stadium in the world,
Collingwood at the MCG = More money in AFL coffers = more equalisation fund money for strugglers i.e. most other melb club = money back from propping up swans for 1st 20 years of existance in Sydney.

The deal was done as a sweetner when the interstate clubs wanted their earned finals for finishing up on ladder, banking system out. Collingwood at the 'G in

Your home is Victoria Park, where they now play Club18 football on Saturdays. The MCG is Melbourne's home and nobody elses. You just play your home games there.

15 games is simply too much. No argument that it will make big crowds, and yes, that's good for AFL, but there is such thing as fairness. 18 Victorian games, and 6 Friday night games just isn't fair.

A club shouldn't just be given these games because they earn more money than the others. Shouldn't we be giving the struggling clubs Friday night games to help these clubs move along, instead of throwing even more at Pies? If this is going to be a truly equal competition, than no one club should be given a definitive advantage over other sides, and all should be given equal chances on the big stage.

No need for any Tasmania jokes Pies fans :thumbsu:

No.
If you don't like it, support Collingwood.

St. Kilda, Richmond & Essendon all play 17 times in Victoria but I don't see you having a whinge about them. There is stuff all difference between 17 & 18 matches in your home state.

If you want to blame anybody for Collingwood playing so many matches at the MCG blame the AFL for changing the preliminary final rule so as interstate clubs get to play their prelim at home.

The otherside of this deal was that the MCG is compensated with more 'bigger drawing' matches during the regular season. Collingwood always draws a crowd regardless of if we are on top or near the bottom.

I am sure that if Hawthorn didn't have to sell matches that you would see more games in Victoria as well, that is your problem though not ours.

As do Footscray. And they only travel for 3 away interstate games.

Collingwood having 15 games at the MCG is it fair? I used to think they were given an advantage but a few points must be considered. When teams especially Victorian sides put in requests everyone one of them i would imagine would want a home game v Collingwood as they drew the biggest crowds , the atmosphere too is usually very good as everyone wants to beat them. Secondly there is no home ground advantage to either Melbourne side playing there or Telstra Dome, u just have too watch the Pies first Final against the Dogs to see that. It might seem unjust but the bottom line is there fans r loyal enough to watch them each week regardless that they dont win many trophys. The only way it will change is if other teams drew good regular crowds bring more money into the Afl who distribute to everyone (as someone has already pointed out) Collingwood do get richer and their brand more recognised however so the gap between the rich and poor gets bigger, but u cant blame them for being popular can u and reaping the off field rewards?

Not sure if not having any away games in in the second half of the season is an advantage in the end.

If you make the finals your likely to have to travel so it's not an ideal draw in that sense
