Seems to me that if Ch 7 still had the rights or if it was a Sat night, a certain club president would be screaming that a certain army has the right to see its team live anywhere in australia.

When the Maggies played in Adelaide against Port last year, the game was shown on delay (Fri nite) in Melbourne. On Sunday, it won't come on until after the Geelong fiasco. If the said channel does what they did last week, we'll be picking up play just before the half.

What sort of programming genius organised this? And where is the Collingwood president getting behind his club and railing against the TV - oh, sorry, it's Channel 9.

Another conflict of interest - case proven.

ALL MELB BASED CLUBS PLAING I'STATE SHOULD HAVE THEIR GAMES SHOWN LIVE (AND COMPLETE) INTO MELBOURNE. No exceptions. There are three games on Sunday - the two with the best TV treatment are the ones played at the MCG and Geelong. Ridiculous.

Your club president has been doing a hell of a lot of whinging lately so why doesn't he come out and complain? Don't be such a hypocrite.

It's the coverage in Melbourne that's the issue, moron.

No it is their job to promote their club and that is it. I don't vote for Eddie to propmote anything but Collingwood. I don't mind what else he promotes so long as there is no detriment to Collingowood.

Mark,

By promoting Collingwood he promotes the game in general. The annual community camp in Western Sydney is a huge promotion for both the club and aussie rules football.

All club presidents have the responsibility of doing the same thing for their clubs, and by association AFL football in general.

You Collingwood people just lap it up, don't y'all. I have no doubt that Eddie believes what is good for Collingwood is good for the game. But he's wrong. Believe it or not, that is not always the case. Sometimes what is good for Collingwood is good for no-one or nothing else.

And your absolute refusal to develop a clash strip, despite changing you guernsey as often as Rhyce Shaw's nappies is a perfect example.

Another example is a collingwood loss. Bad for the Maggies, good for football.

I don't care if you don't want to change. Stay the same, but for God's sake don't pretend you're always good for football. I can see where Mark williams devloped his obduracy.

Hmm, it if were viable I'd dump The Block (rating poorly this season anyway) and run

1:00 Geelong v Adelaide LIVE
3:45 Port Adelaide v Collingwood (starting time moved to 3:45pm AEST) LIVE
6:30 National Nine News
7:00 Backyard Blitz (Rpt)

but National Nine News Sunday is one of the highest rating shows of the week thus Nine never want to move it from 6:00 for fear of everyone tuning into Seven News at 6:00 instead.

It may be live, but wouldn't it be in the third quarter. I saw it in the fixture that the game starts at 2.10pm local time, which would make 2.40pm our time.
Channel 9 would certainly not get rid of The Block, plus Channel 7 would not get ratings even if Channel 9 have the news on at 6pm.

The biggest thing that will annoy me is that the add breaks will be long, and if it is a close one, how fustrating will that be. we will just have to find out.

Start time was recently changed to 2.45pm local time .

The Block was outrated by Lisa McCune's 'The World Around Us', last week. It's going to be a flop this year.

If i can remember, The block was rated at no.6 for the week. Channel 7 Only had one show, which was Blue Heelers LIVE.
You are an idiot, write facts and not opinions.

The game is scheduled to start at 3:15 AEST and the live coverage at 4:00 pm on Nine (in Melbourne). So I reckon we will get in half-way through the second quarter.

Hope that the pies wouldn't have been blown apart in the first quarter by then. Fingers crossed.
