I think the club were complacent at the selection table and picked players who they believe are underperforming in order to get a response, but the reality is they’re just finished. Add to that the siege mentality GWS will bring (they NEED a win and they’ll use the undermanned narrative) and I’ll be borderline shocked if we get up tonight.

To top it off this place will be a nightmare with accounts that only pop up to sink the boot in scattered throughout every thread!

Forget sinking the boots in. Lose tonight and the pitchforks come out.

Couldn't have said it any better. This board gets filled with unnecessary negativity, slagging on the club at every possibility.

One thing is to be critical of the direction of the club which I would be, but another is to just be all doom and gloom about the club, and in some cases, wishing us defeat. Bizarre indeed.

TBH I have no issue with that. At 1-3 with a trip to Perth on the horizon, after the off-season we had, team selection to this point and having lost to a previously winless GWS missing half their best 22 on our home turf it would the right time for it, IMO. The problem I have is with the posters that are transparent 99% of the time, but pop up with an axe to grind only to then disappear once they’ve vented. The common theme with those type of posters is that they have NFI.

It’s a real interesting point in our clubs medium to long term future tonight because it will define our season and the careers of people within the FD. Win tonight and we’re a shot at being 5-3 by Rd 8. Lose tonight and finals are done because at best we’re 4-4 at that point going into a horror stretch of Sydney (in Sydney), Port, Geelong, Adelaide (in Adelaide) and Melbourne.

Here’s to me being wrong with my tip because tonight is a ripping opportunity to set our season up!
