Some people say that we don't want to make finals this year so we can get a higher draft pick. Others say we don't want to make finals this year because we will just get embarrassed! But this Bomber fan disagrees! We are a definite chance to make finals this year with the run home we have! Melbourne, West Coast, Adelaide at the Dome, Bulldogs, and Saints. With the way our boys are playing at the moment we are capable of winning every one of those game's.

I for one don't like relying on the fate of other teams. All we have to do is keep winning and we should be right! But I don't know if anybody has noticed that the results of this weekend so far have gone in our favor. If the Dee's win today there is only 2 games separating 5th from 12th, which gives us every opportunity to sneak in this year especially given our next 3 weeks.

We would also like the Blues to lose today! Not that it matters so much, just because it's carlton. Also, colingwood is no certainty to make finals this year, ha ha, everything just seems to be falling into place for us Bombers fans. As for finals are concerned....If we keep playing like we're playing, and with the likes of Lovett, Dempsey, and McVeigh to come back within the next month. Who knows what could happen if we scrape in?!

The only problem with that is that, at round 17, we are talking about relying on other results going our way to sneak in. As soon as we say that, IMHO, we can't give finals a realistic thought.

That said we have a great run home -
H vs Melb at MCG : should win
A vs WC at Subi : should win
H vs Adelaide at TD : close but should win
A vs WB at TD : outside chance only
ESS v St K at TD : close

We'll likely end up with 10 wins, but we have a good chance to end up with 11. If Collingwood, Adelaide, Brisbane, or Saints slip up badly and can only manage one win from the next five games, we will go above that team on the ladder. The problem is that our percentage is so poor that if any of those only manages 2/5, they'll still end up above us.
Even if we go as well as we hope, and one of those four has a shocker (I think one of them will, but I can't say which one), we will compete against Richmond who are charging home and have 6 points on us, and Kangaroos, who are very likely to take that #5 spot today and make our job that much more difficult.

If we do the unthinkable, maintain our form and beat both the Saints and the Bulldogs, we'll have 12 wins and with an improved percentage will probably get in. Belief is on our side, but the maths isn't.

Good grief!! after looking at the lead post, I am in shock  I couldn't get past the first word before my head starting to spin. :( If I read the whole post, I'd go into cardiac arrest.

if we make the finals it would be a bonus, but at this point I am happy with our season as it stands for 2 reasons:

1. Our new and old players are coming together and playing a great style of footy that is fantastic to watch when we are running hot.
2. We smashed Collingwood yesterday:thumbsu:

I totally agree. If we don't make it I would be satisfied with the way have played in the 2nd half of the year! Especially to tear the pies apart yesterday! I just really think with the way we are playing we could really do some damage this year. We have adapted to Knights run, run, run style of play and now we seem to be a lot fitter than every team we are coming up against! Im telling you that no team will want to play us because they know we just keep running! I love the style we are playing!
