Absolutely LOVE Community. After being told about it and downloading the full season just over a week ago I watched the whole first season and what has been shown in Season 2 so far in 4 days.

I have equal amounts of love for Modern Family and Community. Although Community I do feel works a little better, MF does have a few jokes that fall flat occasionally and some of the cast members are iffy.

Community seems to have an amazing cohesion amongst the cast to the extent that none of the main characters are annoying or boring and they all offer laughs in many different situations. Pierce is awesome (boy Chevy is back!), Abed is a big talent, Annie is so hot, Jeff exudes confidence, Britta is the straight person of the group, Troy works amazingly with Abed and Shirley is good albeit probably the worst of the lot.

Then you have the side characters like the hilarious Senor Chang, the Dean, Starburns and Duncan.

Very well done show, hopefully it gets a good run and doesn't end at the end of this season as it'd be tragic.

Just watched the the final episode of season 1. Pretty big disappointment really. I don't want to see a love triangle then to make it worse, Jeff and Annie. Had to watch Modern Warfare again to reboot my love for the show.

The payoff in the first episode in Season 2 is great. Really hilarious ep, i thought that cliffhanger was dumb too but first ep makes it all worth it and then some.

Yeah I enjoyed the first ep of season 2. Wasn't particularly funny but I was happy the ended all that shit, at least for a while.

Talk at TV By The Numbers is that they're headed for cancellation at the end of the season. I hope not, I really enjoy it and would like to see it go for at least another season or two (three or four seasons seems to be optimal for most US comedies before they start to get stale).

It gets slayed in the ratings by Big Bang theory, why can't they just try it in a different time slot?
Its too good to get the chop so quickly, miles better then BBT as well...

They need a laughter track. It seems every show on American TV fails if people aren't told to laugh. Modern Family is the exception and I'm still not sure how it managed to be so successful.

Wuh?

I think/hope that was a crack at the stupidity of audiences that only seem to enjoy comedies that have a awful laugh track.
I will never understand how Arrested Development struggled so much, just to many idiots out their.

AD was a comedy that required the week-to-week commitment of a drama, I don't think a lot of people got that. Even something like Community has pretty self-contained episodes, whereas AD was all about long arcs.

It was also pretty difficult to pick it up halfway through without watching a few episodes. Half the humour was in callbacks and call-forwards.

Spot on.

Shows like How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half men are such big hits because they're so easy to watch (except if you like things that are actually funny). People can just sit down for any given episode and laugh at stupid and easy gags. They don't have to pay too much attention and they don't have to work things out to get the pay off.

I have seen every episode of Community and Mad Men and I have only just realised that she is in both shows.

There's a thread on Community's IMDB page filled with Alison Brie gifs. Spent a good half hour on it.

LOVED EP 6!

One of the best Community eps yet. So many great little bits of gold scattered throughout.

Abed and Troy's Alien/Ripley fight=AMAZING!:thumbsu::D:thumbsu:

And Jeff who was 'still cool as a zombie' then coming out of being a zombie and still doing the exact same thing he was as a zombie. So good!

Chang as the ice skater made me lose my shit too.

LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!:thumbsu::thumbsu:

I thought it was a bit lame. They're really hammering the parody-a-movie episodes recently.
I'm a big fan of anything Zombie, so it did play to my likes perfectly.

But the parodies are what Community does so well IMO.
