[Underdog]

Watched it again, liked it much more.

Troy was killer in this episode. Loved when Jeff said "unlike making love with Britta, this will be quick and with dignity" to which Troy shrugs and sadly agrees.

The songs weren't great, that's what made it a medi-ochre episode for me. They weren't really funny or clever, so it kind of defeats the purpose of having them tbh.

I think that's my biggest problem. I just spent the whole episode wondering "Why?" There was no logical reason to have their recounts as puppets, when the characters they interacted with weren't. There was no reason for them to break out into song. Add in a few lines that were trying way too hard to be meta but were just sloppily thrown in (ie, the Prof Duncan one) and it just didn't sit right. After it finished i definitely did not feel like I'd gotten my weekly Community fix.

That said, it did have some genuinely funny moments (as they all do), but the negatives far outweighed them.

They were singing because that's what Muppets do.

I think this gimmick would have worked better as a bottle episode. They could have been slipped hallucinogenic drugs and seen each other as muppets, spilled (more) embarrassing secrets and maybe not sing, all within the confines of the study room, and we could be spared that shockingly obtrusive green screen. Plus, at Greendale, there also would have been room for a puppet Garrett and puppet Magnitude.

All of the throwbacks are sad attempts for the new creators to seem meta. It just appears to be talentless hacks trying to mooch off the funny storylines and jokes Harmon created.

Yeah, I thought it was a solid episode too. It wasn't nearly as cheesy as I feared as soon as I realised it was going to be a Christmas episode.

I really like what they've done with Changnesia. I mean, I know he's faking, and underneath he's still insanely ill, but it's a nice change of pace and improvement over crazy town banana pants Chang, who I hated. Wish they'd given it to him sooner.

Christmas episode was pretty good by this season's standards. Malcolm McDowell fits into this universal as well as I thought he would.
Britta's 'judgy' face is kinda cute.
I don't buy Jeff as a Tom Waits fan. Then again, he is a poser.

I also enjoyed the episode. Some bits were a bit cheesy but overall a very solid episode.

Thought it was crap. I really, really, really hope that darkest timeline thing was just a one off joke and not a preview for this years finale storyline.

I've stopped watching after the puppet episode. Good to see I'm not missing anything
