To be fair to Douglas, he was watching the ball over his shoulder and would not have had knowledge that it was Gov V Neade.

Yeh, to much to ask a 200 game veteran to know we had a numerical superiority behind him at a cente clearance with 40 secs left. But lets rush back unto a pack situation.

Zero point zero composure, some of our sub 50 gamers would not have erred like that.

Utter nonsense. If you'd ever played footy you'd know how plain silly that comment is.

It is going to be a fascinating last few rounds. Massive log jam from Sydney in 4th to us in 12th separated by just 2 wins. The thing that makes it interesting is that many of the 4-12 contenders play each other, and each match will have a massive impact on the makeup and order of the top 8.

Possible bizarre outcomes include:
- Port miss the 8 (cheering).
- We win all our games but still miss out (boooo).
- Richmond finish 2nd/3rd and either surrender their home ground advantage to the pies, or travel to Perth (good luck).
- 2 of Sydney, Port, GWS, Melbourne, Hawks, Cats, Crows will miss finals. I’d say all are finals worthy sides on paper but 10 doesn’t go into 8. Ironically Port, as probably the worst team listed, have just about the best chance of making it.

I think it will be tough for Adelaide to get in, those close losses to poor teams really hurt and we’re on a tight rope now, especially with our poor percentage.

Lol, I played plenty of footy (albeit at a low level) not sure how that is relevant in a discussion about a professional footballer not being aware who is around him in a scenairo his team would simulate constantly.

You're not Graham Cornes are you?

It was something he will live with for the rest of his life

From my perspective. I think he should be traded for it

However I'm not privy to that moment and whether or not he running back was above and beyond what was expected of him or part of our defensive structure.

Yeah, I redid the ladder predictor after the GWS win against Port and had us missing finals despite having 13 wins.

It’s going to be tight and no doubt there’s a few upsets to be had which will really throw the cat amongst the pidgeons. Sydney losing to GC was a great example, they’re now back in the pack, a win would have almost cemented a finals spot, suddenly they’re under a bit more pressure.

I'm not sure what an analysis like this proves? Yes, if we won the Showdown only percentage would separate us and Port.

But we didn't, so all this really is is a circle jerk about how we've copped a heap of injuries and aren't really much worse than Port. Personally I'd rather we concentrate on trying to get back to being one of the good teams that teams like Port try and compare themselves to, instead of benchmarking ourselves against a team that has done sweet FA in the last decade.
