Ahhhh...my first Hard Drive. Amiga 1200 with AGA chipset (256 colours, OH MY GOD!) and a 40Mb Hard Drive (how will I EVER fill that?!?!)

I remember having an XT. 20 Mb. Woah! I think it had 512kb ram. I do remember upgrading the card from a 4bit 16 cours, to 8 bit 256 colours. And it had a 10" or 12" monitor.

Our XT didn't even HAVE a hard drive! Pair of 5.25" drives, CGA monitor, 640kb RAM...it was a beast of a machine! (Not.)

I had an AT running at a whopping 21Mhz, 1Mb RAM and a 40Mb disk, both types of floppies and a VGA card & 14" monitor.

The monitor still works 13 years later.

How does this work out, dillo?

I dont know, its must be the way they measure them. I also think it depends on the brand of monitor. Some companies say their 17" CRT's have 16" of Veiwable area but call them 17" to sound good and some brands of 15" LCD's have 16" of veiwable area, so it works out the same.

The reason I know is that I work for a private computer training company and Microsoft insist we have 17" CRT monitors in our classrooms. We were planning to upgrade a lot of our rooms to LCD monitors and whilst Microsoft agreed that the 15" LCD's we were to install, had the same veiwable area at the 17" CRT's that we had installed, they wouldnt let us install them into our classrooms.

Cheers
